Job Description: Budget Title: Instructional Support Associate (SL2) Salary: $42,995 (10-month, college-year) The Department of Chemistry at Binghamton University (State University of New York, ) invites applications for a full-time, Chemistry Instructional Program Associate position. Duties all relate to supporting the teaching functions of the department's Instructional Chemistry laboratories. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field and must have the ability to lift at least 30 pounds. The starting salary is $42,995.00 including a NYS benefits package. This position will support the teaching function of the Chemistry Department by: Setting up instruments, and preparing chemicals and reagents for the instructional chemistry teaching laboratories Daily distributing and clearing of chemicals in the labs Maintaining records and files of instrumentation and chemicals for the instructional chemistry labs Assisting with the management of the instructional chemistry stock rooms Assisting with the management of the instructional chemistry common areas Attaining knowledge of general lab safety, health and safety practices and protocol for waste disposal Providing training and work direction to student employees Assisting and supervising undergraduate students and graduate teaching assistants during laboratory sessions Assisting with the development of new lab exercises Participating in necessary institutional functions such as, but not limited to, departmental and university committees.
