The Maintenance Mechanic will report to the Mechanical Lead and Mechanical Supervisor in either the Melt Shop or Rolling Mill. Plant Maintenance Mechanics must be committed to their own personal safety as well as the safety of others around them. Maintenance Mechanics will be required to troubleshoot complex mechanical systems, individually or as a part of a team of other maintenance and production personnel. Plant Maintenance Mechanics must be able to function safely in a high stress environment and will be responsible for maintaining all production and auxiliary support equipment. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Compensation: Base + Production Bonus $97K - $124K + Benefits Minimum Qualifications: Mechanical Skills and Fundamental Knowledge Experience Troubleshooting Mechanical Systems 1 or more years in an industrial plant Willing to work a rotating shift work schedule. Preferred Qualifications: Able to operate mobile equipment including overhead cranes Good working knowledge of Microsoft programs, CMMS systems, drawing data bases. Understanding of Electrical Theory Strong working knowledge of mechanical theory and the ability to use this theory to diagnose all manner of mechanical issues Good understanding and working knowledge of the following: Setup, operation, and maintenance of manual & portable machine tools Various Welding and oxy cutting processes Hydraulics, Pneumatics, and Lubrication systems and components Print and schematic reading Overhaul & Maintenance of industrial machinery
