Work with Progression, Inc. get your application bumped to the front of the line Controller (GovCon) McLean, VA $135,000/yr - $165,000/yr MUST: 7+ years overall professional Accounting experience required 4 -7 + years in accounting / finance roles required 4+ years using Deltek Costpoint required 4 -7 years of government contracting required 4+ years working knowledge of FAR, GSA, and DCAA compliance Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial modeling. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required MBA preferred DUTIES: Financial Management and Reporting: Manage all aspects of accounting; billing, financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, cost accounting, revenue recognition, and various special analyses Compile all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Develop financial forecasts, budgets, and cash flow analyses Negotiate and manage all corporate liability insurance policies, financial lines of credits and investments Track and submit GSA IFF payments and provide annual audit requirements Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Serve as the main liaison with external auditors, investors, financial institutions, and other key stakeholders on financial matters. Oversee the audit process and manage the relationship with external auditors and tax advisors Advise on financial analyses and decision-making regarding capital investments, pricing, contract negotiations, significant costs, benchmarks, and other matters with management Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Maintain an approved accounting system compliant with DCAA requirements Oversee indirect rate development, monitoring Assist with audits, including DCAA and external financial audits Lead and mentor a senior accountant the manages Accounts Payable, Payroll and Invoicing) Establish clear goals, provide performance feedback, and encourage professional development Manage internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure regulatory compliance Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements in accounting processes Optimize accounting software and tools to support business growth Progression Inc. is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer.
