Description: Litigation Attorney - Tort Location: Houston, TX Experience Level: 4th-5th Year Associate Compensation: $170K-$190K (Depending on experience and credentials) Billable Requirement: 2,000 hours/year About the Role: A Houston-based legal team is seeking a mid-level litigation associate to join its growing tort and emergency response practice. This is a unique opportunity to work on urgent and complex matters across various industries. The role is fast-paced, intellectually engaging, and ideal for an associate who enjoys real-time problem-solving in high-stakes situations. Key Responsibilities: Manage a litigation docket and take ownership of cases from start to finish. Draft and review pleadings, discovery, motions, affidavits, and trial documents. Conduct depositions and prepare summaries for mediation and trial. Appear in court regularly and handle hearings with minimal supervision. Collaborate with senior attorneys and supervise junior team members. Communicate effectively with clients, court personnel, experts, and opposing counsel. What We're Looking For: JD from an accredited law school, top of class preferred. Licensed to practice in Texas and in good standing with the State Bar. 4-5+ years of litigation experience, including trial and tort litigation. Strong writing, editing, and courtroom skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment. Insurance defense experience is a plus, but not required. Willingness to travel frequently.
