The machine operator will run a lapping machine, used to create extremely smooth and flat surfaces on workpieces by using a fine abrasive compound to gently remove material, typically achieving very precise tolerances Selecting the appropriate abrasive compound, adjusting the pressure and speed settings based on the workpiece material and desired finish. Loading workpieces onto the lap plate Carefully placing the parts on the rotating lapping plate, ensuring proper alignment and spacing.
