ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY General Counsel University Enterprises, Inc. REQUISITION University Enterprises, Inc. (UEI) at Sacramento State is seeking a General Counsel. UEI, a Sacramento State non-profit auxiliary organization, exists to meet the evolving needs of the campus community by providing programs and services that support and strengthen the Sacramento State experience. Each day, UEI's management and staff work to advance Sacramento State's commitment to being an integral educational, intellectual, economic, social, and cultural resource for the region. UEI is responsible for grant and contract management and fiscal services for University research and sponsored programs, and also provides fiscal and administrative services to University-related agencies and activities. UEI is the largest provider of student assistant employment opportunities in California. Both state agencies and private employers use California Intern Network as their primary source for student assistants. UEI's investment activity strengthens the campus by providing benefits that can't be achieved with state funds. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Research and develop list of potential customers Establish and maintain industry contacts that lead to sales Follow up on sales leads and make cold calls on potential customers Prepare technical plant nutrition presentations, focused on Metalosate products and make presentations to growers, consultants, and distribution partners Develop relationships with new and existing customers and provide information to customers to maximize sales Gather data on agribusiness trends and competitive intelligence Make recommendations to management regarding opportunities to maximize sales Meet established sales quotas and revenue goals Travel to sales areas as necessary and have personal contact with distributors and clients (must have a truck - car allowance will be provided) Provide technical support in the area of product sales, including specific product knowledge related to plant nutrition and specific crop needs Monitor product performance, customer satisfaction and provide coordinated technical support as required Maintain current and accurate sales contact data Support commercial studies including field trials as needed Assist managers with key account planning and strategies Effective forecasting and inventory management for specific territory Follow all safety policies and procedures as outlined by company policy REQUIREMENTS: 4-year degree in Agricultural/Plant Science or related field and 2 to 3 years of experience in sales of agricultural products; experience in agribusiness or farming a plus Background in agronomy Excellent communication skills required Ability to interface with all company levels Must possess a strong personality, be a self-starter and be action/goal oriented WORKING CONDITIONS: Work from home office as well as field locations within territory Involved in agribusiness with dealers of fertilizers on farms, orchards and vineyards Frequent travel throughout sales areas may require weekend travel and overnight stays Relocation may be required #IN PI
