Capture all income transactions from various sources
Prepare and post journal entries to record revenue from ancillary systems
Record payments, apply cash receipts, and reconcile customer accounts
Monitor aging reports and follow up with customers on overdue balances, Support colleagues across the college with invoicing and billing tasks.
Maintain accurate documentation of all AR transactions
Partner with Advancement Operations team to record incoming miscellaneous revenue accurately in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Prepare and post journal entries related to banking transactions, recurring monthly entries, and general accounting as needed.
Assist other staff by providing support or instruction over reconciliations/account analyses and documentation requirements
Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variances
Assist in the preparation of quarterly capital reports and the annual audit process relating to the plant fund
Assist with special projects, process improvements initiatives, and ad-hoc analyses as assigned.
Position Qualifications
Education and/or experience:
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in education and experience; MBA or other advanced degree in accounting, finance,business, or a related field is preferred
Three to five years of experience as a finance professional
Strong analytic skills to process large amounts of information and make informed decisions in the best interest of the College
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with a high level of motivation
Attention to detail and accuracy are critical
Must be able to work independently, exercise judgment, and manage projects with minimal supervision as well as to adjust as new projects are assigned
Ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner
Highly developed computer skills including extensive experience using Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, email and web applications, as well as an interest in and ability to learn new programs
Ability to use spreadsheets and financial software for complex analysis, fiscal management and financial reports
Strong organizational skills to multi-task during peak times and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team, establish priorities, and work collaboratively as a member of a diverse community

The ability to comply with highly inflexible deadlines is required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position; there will be multiple occurrences of sudden, urgent task completion required.
There may be occurrences of employees, past employees, members of the general public, and others who express opinions, may exhibit strong emotions, which will require the employee to interact professionally, diplomatically, and appropriately in such situations.
While performing the essential duties of this position, an employee would frequently be required to move around the office space as well as within hallways, meeting rooms, and other parts of the campus facilities.
There may be multiple/daily instances of prolonged personal computer use which would include keyboard and/or mouse usage as well as viewing a computer monitor.
An employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds to perform essential position functions.
Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
The overall work environment requires the mental ability to shift focus quickly due to interruptions; an employee must be able to mentally track multiple projects and tasks as well.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, there may be unexpected instances of somewhat loud sounds.
