The ideal candidate will possess experience with Designing and Implementing Cloud solutions in classified environments - with background in Networking (Software Defined), Amazon Web Services (AWS), and mobility solutions. The Cloud Principal Engineer will be responsible for providing expert on-site installation, integration, operations, and maintenance of Hypori, GrayPath, and associated technologies. IW will provide training and certification paths for well qualified engineers to become Hypori/GrayPath experts. The candidate will join the Research and Integration Division (RaID) of Intelligent Waves (IW). Location: This Cloud Principal Engineer is based at Herndon, VA Travel: Limited local travel (Leesburg, VA to Ft Meade, MD) may be required and will be reimbursed based on IW policy, GSA Per Diem rates, and DoD Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) as required. Security Clearance: This Cloud Principal Engineer must be a United States Citizen and hold a current Top-Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility and be willing to take and able to pass a Full Scope Polygraph (FSP). Responsibilities Demonstrated experience with state-of-the-art cloud-based, programming, coding or scripting processes, tools and solutions in a rapid prototyping, DevOps style environment. Demonstrated experience recommending transition/implementation sequencing plans and success measures with the project level enterprise and mission perspectives. Deliver end-to-end systems engineering services to customers - requirements gathering, design, development, test and documentation of cloud solutions Develop solution to migrate existing technology solutions from on-premises to Cloud environments at multiple classification levels Design and Document reference architecture for new Cloud environments Research and Analysis of existing infrastructure and services to migrate capabilities to the cloud Development of technical documentation to support integration of new & existing capabilities Initial stand-up of Cloud environments - compute, storage, database Security Hardening and Accreditation of Cloud environments Support Agile Development Teams in migrating existing and deploying new capabilities in Pivotal Cloud Foundry Develop customized solutions for DevOps (or DevSecOps) to meet customer needs Develop project plans and schedules, identify technical risks, and support the customer in mitigating risks to the mission Successfully execute projects, on-budget and schedule, and document/report project outcome Maintains and refines routine and/or complex information systems and programs; trains users in systems applications and interprets results, responds to and resolves user problems, completes technical enhancements and modifications of and updates existing programs, maintains system files Develop and update System Documentation Deliver formalized and over-the-shoulder training on technology solutions to customer staff Qualifications Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related scientific or technical discipline or 10 years of IT Experience. Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and medical assessment Must have minimum 5 years ' experience with the design/architecture, installation, and/or operations of hardware and software technologies below Experience with DevOps technologies Working knowledge of scripting language (PowerShell, JavaScript, ...) Experience working within a lead IT infrastructure role at the enterprise level; overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software systems, applications, and related products. Demonstrated on-the-job experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, such as Puppet, Chef, Terraform, boto, Serverless, or Cloud Formation. Demonstrated on-the-job experience with application development and deployment on Amazon Web Services OR completion of Amazon Web Services training in AWS development, system administration, architecting or integration. Experience with systems planning, security principles, and general software management best practices. Experience integrating, testing, and delivery of prototype code scripts which will run on both AWS and Sponsor services to demonstrate functionality required to meet current Assessment and Authorization.
