Description:

New Tech Global is looking for a Shop Manager for a client in the Carencro, LA area.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule, and manage shop projects from initiation to completion, delivering projects on time, on task and on budget.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between internal teams, vendors, and clients.
  • Review technical drawings, specifications, and work orders to ensure project requirements are understood and met.
  • Track project progress and adjust schedules and resources as needed.
  • Conduct regular meetings with shop teams to monitor status, address issues, and drive accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and quality control procedures.
  • Resolve conflicts or delays quickly and effectively.
  • Fast-paced, hands-on environment requiring regular interaction with shop staff and leadership.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and assist in developing more efficient workflows.
  • Provide specific guidance and leadership to foreman working on a variety of jobs
  • Provide onsite leadership performing skilled tasks including all levels of maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on a wide variety of natural gas engines and compressors
  • Continually hone and develop skills in line with technological advances in the industry
  • Able to work in a team environment as a contributing team member and capable of working alone when required

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of production processes, tools, and machinery relevant to the industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, or equivalent).
  • Ability to multitask and manage several projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Possess basic knowledge of compression and power generation equipment
  • Willing to travel for customer meetings
  • Willing to work necessary hours as work load requires
  • Required to pass all drug-related and background testing
  • Attend training and leadership classes and/or seminars as required

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Formal vocational training preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • PMP certification or similar credentials.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
