Performs maintenance and repairs to equipment per the manufacturers guidelines to ensure safety and reliability. Minimum Job Specifications This job requires: Must be a high school graduate or equivalent and a technical vocational or trade school diploma or degree in automotive truck and/or heavy equipment service repair and maintenance is highly desirable. Five years of experience or a combination of relevant education and experience is required. Extensive knowledge of all phases of auto and truck repair such as: tune-ups, brakes, charging system, lighting system, fuel and carburetor, exhaust, vehicle diagnostics and starting system. Welding experience preferred. Computer skills adequate to perform necessary tasks including fleet tracking, electronic maintenance records and other general computer programs. Working knowledge of OSHA requirements as they impact the mechanic's shop and fleet. The ability to work without direct supervision. Excellent organization, written and verbal communication skills. Certification to operate a forklift. To obtain and maintain a valid Colorado Class A CDL driver's license. The Mechanic: Performs maintenance and repairs of company vehicles and equipment. Performs other miscellaneous welding and mechanic work as required. Inspects company equipment in accordance with established procedures, preventative maintenance, and DOT standards. Recognizes and identify problems with equipment and makes the necessary repairs. Assists with repair and maintenance reports and maintaining current records of all vehicles. Responsible for recordkeeping, scheduling of work and ordering parts. Schedules timely and routine maintenance on all SMPA vehicles and equipment and performs maintenance on vehicles and equipment. Occasionally delivers material to SMPA locations and job sites. The intent is to help preserve families by addressing needs most often expressed by families. Provide intervention services, such as meeting one on one with parents and children; providing connections to community resources as identified by the family; facilitate support groups for parents and/or children; connect parents and children to mentoring services offered through the program and in the community; as well as connections to respite care as needed, in person, virtually or through other identified online means. This position may also meet with families as they begin to consider becoming parents through adoption or guardianship to provide education and support to prepare families for this transition. Duties and Responsibilities: • Drive the tanker truck to pick up propane at the refinery and deliver to area AmeriGas facilities; approximately 45 minutes is required to load or unload the truck. • Attach terminal hoses to the truck connections to pump propane into the tanker. • Use permanent hoses attached to the filling ports or the hoses stored in the truck to unload the tanker. The hoses stored on the truck come in two sizes: 20 feet long, three inches in diameter; and 19 feet long, 1½ inches in diameter. • Perform twice daily truck inspections. • May climb ladders at some AmeriGas facilities to check gauges at the top of the bulk tanks. Education and Experience Required: • 3 Years Tractor and Trailer Experience. 200,000 miles minimum • 1 Year Tanker Experience within the last 3 years, preferred • Hazmat and Tanker Endorsement • Eligible for a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) • No Accidents in the Previous 3 years • No More Than One Moving Violation in the Previous 2 years AmeriGas is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
