Job Description

Facilities and Maintenance Technician Skilled in general facility repairs, construction practices, MEP fundamentals, and equipment assembly. Primary role will be to provide necessary support to resolve facility related needs by completing general repairs or contracting and supervising vendors, and supervising construction projects. Traveling domestically up to 50% to the 13 Sofie locations, and remaining time remote. Responsibilities Oversee or complete construction related projects from conception to completion Review projects to ensure budgets and objectives are met Schedule and supervise vendors related to repairs and preventive maintenance schedules Complete small lighting, plumbing, drywall, and painting projects Acquire and assemble roof barriers, tables, shelving, and filters Understanding of common flooring, painting, concrete, roofing, and cleaning practices Familiar with HVAC fundamentals used to repair and replace equipment used for cooling, dehumidification, and clean room specifications Replacement of HEPA filters and charcoal filters Understanding and compliance of SOPs, Change Controls, GMP protocols Monitor compliance with building and safety regulations Contain and prioritize emergencies Duties as assigned Requirements Degree in HVAC, construction management, engineering, or related field; or equivalent field experience General knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods Knowledge of building products and relevant regulations and quality standards Knowledge of HVAC and MEP codes and fundamentals Ability to work a flexible schedule including some weekends and traveling Competent in conflict and crisis management Leadership and resource management skills Excellent time and project management skills The ideal candidate must be able to see the "big picture" and able to assess and react to resolve multiple projects and emergencies in different locations, quickly and competently. The candidate must be autonomous, goal-oriented, and resourceful. Training and onboarding will be provided to ensure the candidate excels.
