As a Cost Accountant Specialist you will: The Cost Accounting Specialist is responsible for analyzing and maintaining accurate product cost information and ensuring production costs align with company budgets. This role plays a critical part in inventory control, cost variance analysis, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will support decision-making through cost-benefit analysis, contribute to process improvements, and uphold strong internal controls related to cost and inventory. Cost Analysis & ReportingMaintain and update average costs for materials, labor, and overhead Prepare, analyze, and reconcile cost reports Perform cost variance investigations and recommend corrective actions Conduct cost-benefit analyses on projects and production processes Provide detailed cost data to support budgeting and decision-making Inventory & Production Cost ManagementTrack and reconcile inventory transactions Perform inventory reserve analysis and adjustments Monitor and resolve discrepancies between physical inventory and system records Reconcile inventory valuation reports Review and verify product codes, SKUs, UOMs, and BOMs for accuracy Control and maintain accurate COGs (Cost of Goods Sold) accounts Maintain and reconcile inventory sub-ledgers to the general ledger General Ledger & AP SupportMaintain general ledger accounts related to cost accounting Support accounts payable processes related to production and inventory Assist with bank reconciliations, vendor payments, and intercompany transactions Process Improvement & ControlsAssist with internal controls related to costing and inventory accuracy Recommend improvements to inventory and cost accounting procedures Participate in the implementation and maintenance of cost accounting systems Develop and document standard operating procedures, troubleshooting, and data integrity controls Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with manufacturing, operations, and finance teams to ensure accurate and timely cost tracking Analyze production orders and operational performance indicators Support internal stakeholders with accurate and timely cost data This is a full time opportunity The ideal candidate will have: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred - or equivalent work experience Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills with a problem-solving mindset High level of accuracy and attention to detail Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced knowledge preferred, including formulas, pivot tables, and lookups) Job-Level Skills & Experience:1-3 years of experience in cost accounting or a similar finance role (manufacturing experience a plus) Basic understanding of cost accounting principles and inventory tracking Experience with accounting or ERP software; familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) is a plus Pay Rate: $30.00/hr Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc. Qualified candidates should APPLY NOW for immediate consideration!
