Job Description

Job Title: Sr. Construction Estimator Location: Raleigh, NC Duration: Full Time Job Description: Prepare detailed estimates and budgets at various stages of design, including conceptual, schematic, and construction documents. Lead or support design-assist and preconstruction efforts, offering constructability input and value engineering recommendations. Perform quantity take-offs, develop bid packages, and solicit subcontractor pricing. Analyze bids and compile data related to materials, labor, equipment, and logistics. Participate in interviews and client presentations, helping communicate project approach and value. Collaborate with Project Managers and Superintendents during hand-off and close-out meetings to share estimate assumptions and capture lessons learned. Assist with project scheduling, logistics planning, phasing, and early procurement strategies. Develop and maintain strong subcontractor relationships and prequalify trade partners. Perform site visits and pre-bid site walks as required. Required: Bachelor's degree in civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or Construction Management is preferred. Must be well versed in MS Office software. Experience using PM software, Site Tracker preferred. 10+ years' experience in construction, ideally 10+ years' estimating experience. Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities. Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports. Knowledge of design/planning principles and procedures. Knowledge of building components, values, function and maintenance requirements. Self-motivated in developing estimating skill sets. Ability to read schematics and blueprints and/or technical manuals. Effective negotiating skills regarding pricing, costs and lead time with subcontractors and vendors. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to assess contract requirements. Ability to clearly translate client project requirements into budgets and estimates for project managers so that the final product delivered meets or exceeds clients' expectations. Knowledge of state, and local building codes, ordinances, and regulations.
