Registered Nurse Lithonia, Georgia Pay From: $38 per hour MUST: Experienced Registered Nurse Must have an active and good standing Registered Nurse Licensure in Georgia Must have 2 plus years of experience as a Registered Nurse Must have Emergency Room experience Must have an active BLS and ACLs Must have EMR/EHR experience Must have experience of sterile technique Experience with Conscious Sedation is highly preferred DUTIES: Registered Nurse will be responsible for, but not limited to the following: Provides pre-procedure telephone instruction and education to patients regarding their procedure. Performs pre-procedure assessment and documents findings appropriately. Prepares the patient for the procedure, including: Establishing intravenous (IV) access. Reviewing allergies and laboratory results. Applying monitoring equipment. Performing site preparation as indicated. Monitors patient throughout the procedure in accordance with Radiology/Nursing policy: Assesses vital signs, pallor, responsiveness, level of comfort, emotional status. Conducts neuro status and circulation checks based on procedure requirements. Provides patient care using the nursing process. Communicates changes in the patient's condition accurately and efficiently to the physician. Implements appropriate care and treatment; acts as a patient advocate. Follows universal precautions and safety protocols. Administers and titrates medications accurately, with knowledge of pharmacologic effects and side effects. Assesses and documents patient response to medications. Provides appropriate treatment for medication-induced changes in condition. Administers emergency drugs and utilizes emergency equipment correctly and confidently. Coordinates post-procedure care in advance unless the case is an add-on. Conducts and documents complete post-procedure assessments. Provides a comprehensive hand-off report to receiving department. Delivers discharge instructions and patient/family education per Radiology policy. Performs daily checks on equipment, medications, and quality assurance as required by policy. Accurately documents all checks and reports equipment failures. Ensures timely repair of equipment and replacement of expired or used supplies. Participates in Performance Improvement and Research activities. Contributes to quality improvement initiatives and identifies cost-saving opportunities. Supports departmental and organizational goals. Demonstrates SPIRIT values and actively participates in patient safety standards. Serves as a preceptor or mentor as needed. Participates in continuing education and staff development programs. Performs other duties and responsibilities appropriate to the role and department.
