Implements an appropriate section and/or shift-specific Quality Control Program and maintains all applicable Quality Control and Functional Verification records. Is responsible for monitoring test analyses and specimen examinations to ensure that acceptable levels of analytic performance are maintained. Reviews the work done by technologists/technicians working in the section(s) or shift(s) assigned to ensure a minimum of errors and corrective action in the interest of good patient care. Refers clinical problems to the laboratory director, manager, or supervisor as appropriate. Assures that all remedial actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications. Ensures that patient test results are not reported until all corrective actions have been taken and the test system is properly functioning.
