This role is designed for mechanically and electrically inclined individuals who enjoy hands-on work, building templates, skids, problem-solving, and working in a team environment. While this position begins as part-time, there is an opportunity to transition into a full-time role based on performance and departmental needs. Duties and Responsibilities Essential to the Job - including the following and any other duties that may be assigned as needed: Assist Foreman and team members with electrical and mechanical prefab assembly tasks. Read and interpret basic drawings, diagrams, and written instructions for assembly work. Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and shop machinery safely and effectively. Perform tasks such as measuring, cutting, threading, welding, and bending conduit without supervision. Assemble brackets, supports, and other mechanical components for prefab builds. Prepare and organize materials, tools, and equipment for upcoming work orders. Perform basic wiring terminations or assembly of electrical components as directed. Ensure all tasks are performed in compliance with company safety policies and OSHA standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace. Communicate clearly with the Prefab Foreman regarding task progress and any issues. Participate in daily shop safety meetings and job safety analysis as required. III. Reporting Relationships Reports to Prefabrication Shop Foreman Works with: Prefabrication Manager, Prefabrication Foreman, and Field Teams IV. Educational/Work Experience/Certifications Completion of vocational/technical program in electrical or mechanical trades preferred. The IR/RF Systems Technologies Division conducts research and development for pyrotechnic and countermeasure devices in support of the Navy, Air Force, Army and Joint Strike Fighter. The primary mission is to promote the self-protection of aircraft, vessels and vehicles and includes, but is not limited to, Infrared Technology, lasers and electronic warfare research and development.The Engineering Technician will be responsible for performing complex engineering assignments in a research and development environment. The Engineering Technician will utilize various production equipment including, but not limited to, injection mold machines, metal lathes and must be experienced with soldering and welding equipment. The Engineering Technician will provide mentoring and leadership to lower level Engineering Technicians in addition to duties outlined briefly below.
