Responsibilities The desired candidate's responsibilities would include, but are not limited to: Fieldwork: Geomorphic, biological, and ecological site assessments Mitigation crediting field protocols Applied fluvial geomorphic / hydraulic survey Construction oversight Post construction monitoring Data Processing and Technical Writing: Document restoration design process Provide written portions of proposals, regulatory permit applications and post construction monitoring reports related to restoration design Complete mitigation crediting calculations Restoration Design: Restoration design development including design discharge selection and development of design metrics Develop design metrics and parameters into a 3-dimensional design with the AutoCAD Civil 3D environment Assist in AutoCAD plan production to develop preliminary, final, and construction restoration plan sets Assist in the development of cost estimates and construction specifications The ideal candidate will have experience in AutoCAD, stream restoration principles and practices, fluvial geomorphology, field survey and data collection techniques, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and environmental regulations. Qualifications Minimum: Bachelor's degree and 2-5+ years' experience in a natural resources design field (such as, but not limited to, landscape architecture, civil engineering, biological systems engineering, agricultural engineering, or water resources engineering) or a natural sciences field (such as, but not limited to, geology, geomorphology, environmental science, ecology or biology). Superior writing, communication, and computer skills (MS Word, Excel, etc.) with attention to detail. Must produce a writing example upon request. Ability to effectively focus on a variety of tasks to produce quality results within project deadlines Ability to travel to sites as needed. Overnight stays are required.
