Perform annual/systematic 90 day and HM-183 inspections (trailers) on equipment as required. Ensure equipment meets Federal FHWA standards. Operate a yard hostler truck to move trailers within the facility yard and the shop as needed. Order and receive parts and supplies as needed. Adheres to all established safety (OSHA) and environmental policies and standards to include identification, use, and proper procedures for handling or disposal of hazardous waste. Clean, organize and maintain the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety. Using welding equipment. Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned Perform HM-183 DOT inspections (P,V,I,K,L,HS,UC,) (EPA-M27) Required Skills/Abilities Must possess at least 3 years of experience in repair and service of trailers and medium duty trucks. Required to have demonstrated knowledge of vehicle and equipment theory, principles and repair relating to diesel engines, air, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems. Minimum of 3 years experience of tractor and trailer maintenance, DOT rules and regulations. Ability to use vehicle diagnostic software. Minimum of 2 years as a fleet mechanic. Minimum of 3 years of DOT HM-183 certification, Training or experience. ASE Certification not required but recommended. High school diploma, completion of G.E.D. required. Preferred Qualifications Dynamic, ambitious and engaged team player.
