Job Description

SUMMARY:

Prepare and distribute all company financial statements. Oversees monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliation process. Responsible for leading the preparation of the yearly budget. Individual is well-versed with accounting concepts, practices and procedures.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare and coordinate the month and year-end company financial closing and related reporting packet

Prepare and coordinate the quarterly balance sheet review and adjustments as required

Supervise Accountants as required

Coordinate the annual external audits for the financial statements, and other audits as required

Maintain company's financial systems

Administer the company's internal control processes and offer suggestions and improvements to strengthen controls

Ensure the accuracy of financial statements

Manage accounting policies and procedures

Administration of the company's LIFO reporting

Oversee the preparation of the annual budget

Oversee the preparation and distribution of monthly financial charts and Scorecard

Coordinate the review and reconciliation of equipment accruals, equipment freight and preparation expenses, and gross profit analysis. Make adjustments as necessary.

Maintain inventory control by performing or supervising physical inventories and monthly reconciliations


QUALIFICATIONS:

Sufficient education, training and/or work experience to demonstrate possession of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Knowledge and ability to work with basic arithmetic and accurately compare and transcribe figures.

Knowledge and ability to work with bookkeeping and accounting principles; prepare and adjust journal entries.

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.

Ability to utilize automated data processing systems; operate office machines.

Ability to communicate with others and to assimilate and understand information, in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Sufficient education, training. certifications and/or work experience to demonstrate possession of the following knowledge, skills and abilities, which would typically be acquired through:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Finance or Accounting.

5-7 years previous accounting or finance experience required.

In-depth understanding of company data and where it resides

Advanced degree or CPA preferred


COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

Ability to communicate with outside tax professionals, officers and shareholders.

Effectively communicating and working with customers.


COMPUTER SKILLS:

MS Operating Systems: Excel, Word, Outlook

Accounting systems


REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to establish credibility quickly. Must be decisive and able to recognize and support the organizations goals and priorities.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this position the employee will be required to utilize the computer screen and keyboard, telephone and will need to bend and reach to file.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

General office environment


POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

Normal Days of work are Monday through Friday.

Overtime may be required on occasion as needed.
