Contains professional and para-professional disciplines. This position manages a team of intermediate or experienced professionals in Industrial Engineering and Mnufacturing Engineering. Sets day-to-day goals, and develops tactical and operational plans for the team. Responsible for modifications in processes to solve problems and improve manufacturing process effectiveness. Primary Responsibilities: Establishes the physical layout of machinery and the most efficient sequence of operations and work flow. Plans the sequence of operations and procedures and documents manufacturing standard work and routings. Plans the allocation of resources, materials and personnel to establish maximum utilization of equipment. Performs research and engineering laboratory functions involving the layout, building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and modification or electronic or electro-mechanical devices, assemblies, subsystems, and systems. Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, productivity improvement, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems. May assist facilities engineers (planning and design of facilities) and materials logistics (packaging design). This position will act as a mentor and coach in the application of Lean principles and Six Sigma projects for the engineers they lead. Manages a team of primarily intermediate or experienced professionals, with freedom to determine how assignments are completed (e.g., objectives and approaches to completing work). Sets objectives and guides others on execution/approach for achievement of operational results. Problems faced are difficult and involve consideration of multiple variables. Explains policies, practices, and procedures and may influence others. Develops tactical and operational plans, and leads, directs and evaluates a team of functional and operational professionals to ensure the plan meets it's established targets and standards. Reviews production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities. Estimates production costs, cost saving methods, and the effects of product design changes on expenditures for management review, action, and control. Coordinates and implements quality control objectives, activities, or procedures to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, or minimize costs. Collaborates with other organizations involved in product development and process improvement to contribute to robust product designs and manufacturing launch plans for new products. Acts as leading authority in a number of engineering fields, such as mechanical, chemical, electrical, or aerospace, to identify new/improvements on existing methods in the field of engineering. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience (requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.)OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years' experience OR In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident "Green Card" holder Engineering experience Manufacturing experience Lean/Six Sigma experience Experience leading people BS in Engineering required. Preferred Qualifications: MBA preferred.
