We are conveniently located in Hampton Roads, Virginia just miles from Virginia Beach and Norfolk. Our company prides itself on: Maintaining a clean, state of the art facility Providing quality service to our customers Employing and retaining great people Our shop is AIR CONDITIONED We are currently seeking an Electrical Field Service Technician. Job Responsibilities: Significant travel to customer sites required (50% average, typically within a 250-mile radius). Sites include, but are not limited to, paper mills, power plants, and water treatment plants. Diagnose operational problems in electrical power generation and control systems and equipment Use specialized measuring and testing instruments such as voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, meggers, Advanced Motor Circuit Testers AWA IV-12, PDMA MCE, Megger ADX 15 , etc. Make standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment Plans and lays out work from blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams or specifications Installs, repairs, and tests electrical systems, electrical equipment, emergency or standby generation systems, etc. Conduct IR Scans of Customer Power and Control Systems. Perform Trouble Shooting, Maintenance, and Repair of Electric Motors AC Induction. AC Synchronous, AC Wound Rotor, DC Shunt Wound, DC Series Wound , and Generators AC and DC in the Field. Minimum Requirements: Master's Electrician License preferred. Minimum of 4 years' experience in industrial electrical troubleshooting with a background in AC/DC motors, controls, and generators. High school degree or equivalent. Customer service oriented. Must have excellent driving record. Experience with thermography inspection is a plus. Must be physically able to safely operate equipment, able to lift and carry 40-80lb test equipment and tooling around Industrial Facilities, and capable of standing/stooping/kneeling for long periods of time. We are a service industry on call to our customers 24/7/365. To meet our customers' needs, employees must be able to work overtime as needed, including extending hours.
