The Electrical Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the planning, organizing, and completion of mill electrical maintenance within the area of assigned responsibility. Responsible for managing a group of hourly union journeyman electricians on a daily basis. The supervisor will help to define and participate in the development of electrical daily and preventative maintenance programs to improve the reliability of electrical machinery in the mill. Principal Accountabilities: Providing technical direction, assistance, and solutions to maintenance and operating personnel. Work with key mechanical, reliability maintenance and engineering personnel to support daily, monthly scheduled maintenance outages and annual outage jobs within the field of electrical maintenance and engineering. To deliver complete programs for all types of equipment, some crossover activities to the mechanical maintenance programs will be required. Will work with maintenance/engineering and operations personnel to complete maintenance and capital projects and programs, including necessary training, stocking of spare parts, preventive maintenance checklists, drawing creation, and updates. Supports the Mills goals for safety, environmental, and other areas of need. Focus on electrical supervision of hourly workforce and electrical equipment reliability. Manage equipment tracking and rebuild programs. Utilize predictive & preventative maintenance programs to identify and correct equipment issues. Input and update equipment information and documentation. Develop equipment manuals for precision inspection and maintenance of equipment. Manage area equipment PM and maintenance programs. Job Responsibilities: Significant travel to customer sites required (50% average, typically within a 250-mile radius). Sites include, but are not limited to, paper mills, power plants, and water treatment plants. Diagnose operational problems in electrical power generation and control systems and equipment Use specialized measuring and testing instruments such as voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, meggers, Advanced Motor Circuit Testers AWA IV-12, PDMA MCE, Megger ADX 15 , etc. Make standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment Plans and lays out work from blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams or specifications Installs, repairs, and tests electrical systems, electrical equipment, emergency or standby generation systems, etc. Conduct IR Scans of Customer Power and Control Systems. Perform Trouble Shooting, Maintenance, and Repair of Electric Motors AC Induction. AC Synchronous, AC Wound Rotor, DC Shunt Wound, DC Series Wound , and Generators AC and DC in the Field. Minimum Requirements: Master's Electrician License preferred. Minimum of 4 years' experience in industrial electrical troubleshooting with a background in AC/DC motors, controls, and generators. High school degree or equivalent. Customer service oriented. Must have excellent driving record. Experience with thermography inspection is a plus. Must be physically able to safely operate equipment, able to lift and carry 40-80lb test equipment and tooling around Industrial Facilities, and capable of standing/stooping/kneeling for long periods of time. We are a service industry on call to our customers 24/7/365. To meet our customers' needs, employees must be able to work overtime as needed, including extending hours.
