Job Description Job Description Clayton Services is searching for a Process Equipment Operator to join a thriving company in North Houston. The Process Equipment Operator will be responsible for assisting with the R&D of new products. Job Type: Temp-to-Hire Pay Rate: $27.00 - $30.00/hour Benefits: Excellent benefits available after the successful completion of the temporary period, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and more. Process Equipment Operator Responsibilities: Operate specialized heated forming and molding equipment used in the production of sustainable fiber-based packaging products. Monitor production processes and ensure finished products meet established quality standards, including weight, dimensions, and visual appearance. Perform routine equipment setup, operation, adjustments, and minor troubleshooting to maintain efficient production output. Operate supporting process equipment, including pumps, mixers, and material handling systems. Accurately record production data, operating parameters, inspection results, and process observations. Communicate equipment performance, product quality concerns, and process deviations to management and engineering personnel. Assist with operating and maintaining various research and development equipment, including additive manufacturing systems, laser cutting equipment, and coating application systems. Support prototype development activities, process testing, and continuous improvement initiatives within the R&D facility. Follow established operating procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards at all times. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Adapt quickly to changing priorities and participate in new projects and assignments as business needs evolve. Process Equipment Operator Skills and Abilities: Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience operating industrial equipment and machinery. Ability to follow detailed work instructions, standard operating procedures, and technical documentation. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to product quality. Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and identify process improvements. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable working in a fast-paced research and development environment where priorities and tasks may change frequently. Ability to learn new technologies, equipment, and manufacturing processes. Basic computer proficiency and experience maintaining production records and documentation. Process Equipment Operator Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of three years of machine operation experience in a manufacturing, processing, laboratory, or industrial environment required. Five or more years of industrial equipment operation experience preferred. Experience operating process equipment such as pumps, mixers, presses, automated production machinery, or similar equipment preferred. Previous experience in research and development, pilot manufacturing, prototype production, or technical manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
