Who We're Looking For: We are looking for a dedicated College Counselor who is passionate about supporting new and returning upper school (Grades 9 - 12) students' academic, college-career, and social-emotional development through collaborative partnership with students, parents, and LSS faculty and staff. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in college and school counseling, proficiency in building strong relationships through online tools, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to address the diverse needs of our student body. Responsibilities: Develop and support programs tailored to accommodate the unique circumstances of our diverse student population. In collaboration with Academic Advisors, review transcripts of incoming students, including international student transcripts, to assist with the creation of course schedules as needed upon admission. Ensure students meet academic standards for grade promotion, graduation, and college acceptance. Facilitate grade level seminar courses for students and provide authentic and meaningful feedback on all assignments. Collaborate closely with upper school faculty and other staff regarding individual student support and to aid in the development of comprehensive programming that provides the highest level of support. Establish and maintain strong, supportive relationships with students and guardians through consistent communication via email, telephone, and video conferencing. Lead webinars, sessions, and activities focused on college-career readiness and social-emotional growth. Regularly contribute to newsletters and other similar school communications as assigned. Participate in school-wide events, including Year-End Celebrations and other virtual or onsite activities. The teacher will support students in grades 6-12 across multiple proficiency levels, including advanced coursework, through a combination of asynchronous instruction and live, synchronous interactions, providing personalized guidance, feedback, and academic support.
