The Blender Operator is responsible for coordinating bulk blended and raw materials with production needs, ensuring correct materials are supplied to packaging lines for production of finished products as required by internal and external customers. The individual in this position loads and unloads bulk liquids, operates an inline oil blender, and monitors inventories to ensure production needs are met. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function. Load and unload bulk liquids from tank trucks and rail cars. Start pumps and open valves on pipelines and tanks to regulate and direct flow of oil from and into tanks according to delivery schedules. Gauge amount of oil in storage tanks. Read automatic gauges at specified time intervals to determine flow rate of oil into or out of tanks and amount of oil in tanks. Inspect pipelines, valves, and flanges to detect malfunctions such as loose connections or leaks and report defective valves to maintenance personnel. Schedule tank truck receipts and outbound loads. Control equipment, including inline oil blender, to blend specified oils and additives to meet production requirements. Ensure batch characteristics and type and weight of ingredients meet specifications. Turn valves and pour ingredients to fill mixer and pump containers. Start equipment and adjust temperature, time, and speed controls to blend ingredients adding additional ingredients during blending cycle as specified. Accurately report production, as well as type and quantity of materials used. The Machine Operator (Packaging) is responsible for operating machinery and equipment used in the production of products and will work with other associates to safely and effectively meet department and company product quality and production rate standards. The individual in this position will perform and document quality checks, and will also assist in troubleshooting process problems and performing maintenance to ensure continued operation of production equipment. This is a production-oriented position and requires heavy physical labor, including ability to lift 50+ pounds, standing for long durations, and performing tasks requirement bending, stooping or twisting. The Shag Driver is responsible for operating a shag truck to move semi-trailers in and out of loading docks and around or between the company's manufacturing and distribution facilities. Develop, implement, and monitor the company's EHS compliance and management systems in accordance with governmental and company requirements to ensure compliance, injury prevention, and risk mitigation. Provide hands-on technical support for engineering and operations teams across the organization in implementing and managing EHS policies and programs. Partner with plant and distribution facility leaders to continuously improve the safety, culture, awareness, and accountability in support of EHS policies and programs. Work collaboratively with manufacturing/operations staff and EHS team members on existing and new programs and projects, including environmental compliance. Work along-side internal and external engineers, manufacturing/operations staff, OEMs, and third-party contractors in evaluating equipment hazards and controls, designing and implementing of new or modified equipment, and management of change processes. Conduct EHS risk assessments of manufacturing to identify and mitigate occupational and environmental hazards. Determine and implement identified corrective and preventative actions and opportunities for improvement. Complete EHS compliance reports and analyze EHS data and report trends, recommending plans for correction of gaps and provide EHS input to address change. Support manufacturing and distribution facilities during agency and external customer inspections/audits, including but not limited to EPA, OSHA, fire department, and county agencies, and external customer audits. Provide technical assistance and guidance to plant and distribution facilities by leading or assisting in safety committee teams and meetings, including EHS regulatory interpretations. Assist facility management with identifying and implementing cost saving opportunities (e.g., reduce energy consumption, pollution prevention activities). Implement on-going industrial hygiene chemical and noise assessments and monitoring plans; implement ergonomic programs to reduce risk of cumulative trauma and other ergonomic injuries at the manufacturing and distribution facilities. Maintain an open and candid working relationship with immediate supervisor/manager in discussing matters of importance. Understand and apply lean manufacturing tools and methodology to lead continuous improvement activities. Adhere to established company values, practices, policies and procedures at all times. Minimum Experience, Education, and Certifications An individual qualified for this job must have and maintain the following qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or higher engineering, safety, or related technical field from an accredited institution. Have and be able to maintain a valid drivers' license and good driving record. OSHA, RCRA, HAZWOPER, and DOT training preferred.
