Play a critical role in supporting the behavioral, personal, emotional, and social development of students. Responsibilities As a School Counselor with Catapult Learning, you will: Counsel individual or small groups of students in multiple grade levels in a face-to-face school setting. Positively impact the educational, behavioral, social, and emotional welfare of every child with whom you engage. Nurture student potential through personalized, small group, and classroom counseling, which may focus on academic, emotional, behavioral, or developmental issues. Provide support to families, classroom teachers, school principal and other school personnel to maximize effectiveness of services. Perform learning assessments (when requested and appropriate) of students' learning styles, strengths, and weaknesses-to shed light on academic performance and inform further referral. As a beacon of knowledge and support, empower parents and school personnel by helping them access community resources that align with the unique needs of individual students and families. Champion administrative excellence by completing paperwork that reflects accuracy and efficiency in every detail. Ensure supervision of students at all times, including escorting students safely to and from classrooms/learning stations. Climbing stairs and light lifting may be required. Perform data entry in a timely fashion to meet deadlines (student attendance, progress reports, parent and classroom teacher communication forms, compliance documentation). Establish and maintain student forms and files as required by company, local, state, and federal agencies. Maintain consistent communication with company supervisors, classroom teachers, principals, and parents. Other duties as assigned. Multi-site coverage within a tight geographic cluster (triad-based). Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred for TBA support and other Tampa-area sites. Catapult Learning, LLC is looking for qualified and experienced Professional Development Specialists in Miami-Dade County! Catapult Learning is a provider of K12 contracted instructional services to public and private schools throughout the US, specializing in at-risk youth and students who are struggling; we are a company with over 40 years of excellence in education. There are two primary functions in this role: presenting and coaching. The ideal candidate will leverage a deep knowledge of research-based best practice, take a hands-on approach to support educators across the content areas, and deliver engaging and exceptional professional learning experiences and job-embedded coaching support to improve teaching, learning, and organizational performance. This is per-diem position. You will be assigned PD and/or coaching assignments based on requests from the schools we serve. These requests are typically in-person DURING REGULAR SCHOOL HOURS, with occasional requests made for after-school, evenings, or weekends. We are unable to guarantee a certain number of work days per month, as the number of requests vary from month-to-month. You will be compensated based on the work done: PD training by each event presented; Coaching based on an 8 hour day (6 hours coaching, 2 hours of documentation). A current FL Teaching Certificate is required for this position. Local candidates preferred. Encourages participation and open dialogue as part of an effective coaching relationship during presentations. Contributes to development and revision of professional development modules, products, and service delivery protocols in preparation for assigned events. Establishes and maintains forms and files as required by company, local, state, and federal agencies. Reviews Professional Development participant evaluations to drive continuous improvement. Analyzes data to facilitate the development of best practices and determine instructional needs. Becomes familiar with regional standards and the materials that are core to instruction in partnership schools. Supports organizational change, professional growth, and student achievement while working with leaders and teachers on assigned PD projects, and under the direction of the Center for PD Excellence and regional Operations teams.
