The University of South Carolina's Student Health Services provides care through a care-team model with nurses, physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered dietitians, counseling, social workers, psychiatrists, and other allied health professionals, and employs approximately 200 staff members with an annual operating budget of more than $16,000,000. This role performs professional duties related to accounting functions within Financial Services of Student Health Services. Analyzes, prepares and distributes various reports and financial statements on accounts for internal and external use. Ensures the accurate documentation of all financial transactions. Prepares and assists in the preparation of invoices, vouchers, journal entries, bank deposits, budget requests, projections, receipts and summary reports. Reviews and reconciles accounts for correct posting and accounting of transactions. Monitors account status to ensure timely transaction processing. Responsible for processing Accounts Receivable to include posting transactions to various accounts, depositing checks received from various state agencies and programs, as well as third party payers. Assists professional staff in implementing financial procedural changes; confers with internal and external agency financial officials about procedures and records. Interprets accounting system policies, procedures, and forms. Hours generally are Monday thru Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm (9:00am - 6:00pm).
