Duties will be to provide outpatient care for eye related disorders and conditions; conduct routine eye exams including field of vision tests; prescribe corrective lenses when required; determine a patient's visual acuity, field of vision and hand-eye coordination. Small IHS (No AK Licene Required) hospital in rural AK is seeking a hospitalist to work 2 weeks as a hospitalist and 2 weeks developing/educating staff on current Covid 19 procedures. You will work for 30 days in a row and then off for 30 days. 1 year assignment with possibility of extension or permanent employment. This is a small hospital with average inpatient census of 3-10, no ICU or surgeries performed. OB, FP, ER and Psychiatry on staff. IHS hospital located in rural Alaska is seeking a locum tenens physician to cover their Emergency Dept from Dec 15 - Jan 31st. This assignment has possibility for extension and/or permanent. No AK license is required. Town is approximately 3500 in population but services 10,000 with outlying villages. Average patient census per 24 hours is 25. Shifts are 12 hours with a swing shift which will provide double physician coverage during most of the day. The hospital does not do surgeries etc. all critical patients are flown to Anchorage IHS. The hospital also has physician in each village providing Covid Response and in house Hospitalists with Covid experience. Backup staff consists of FT Family Medicine Physicians, 24/7 OB, 24/7 Psychiatry, Hospitalists. They are also currently running a cold/flu walk in clinic to reduce patients in the ER.
