We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our ManTech Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, modifying, and repairing precision aerospace parts and components using manual (non-CNC) machinery. You will work with a variety of aerospace-grade materials, including aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, and advanced composites, while strictly adhering to regulations, AS9100 quality standards, and precise engineering blueprints. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Set up and operate manual mills, lathes, grinders, and other precision machining equipment. Fabrication, repair, and modification of aerospace weapon system (LCAC) and ground support equipment components to extremely tight tolerances using advanced metalworking techniques. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, and models. Select appropriate cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials for each specific job. Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut. Verify conformance of finished workpieces to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other related tools. Perform routine machine maintenance and monitor tool wear to ensure optimal machine performance and prevent production delays.
