What You ll Be Doing Daily Performing scheduled preventative maintenance and advanced repairs on tractors and trailers Ensuring all work complies with DOT, state, federal, and company standards Troubleshooting and repairing systems across broad categories, including: Powertrain and driveline Suspension, steering, and braking (air and hydraulic) Electrical and electronic systems, including ABS and collision mitigation HVAC and cooling systems Aftertreatment and exhaust systems Liftgate systems (electrical, hydraulic, fabrication) Reefer systems Roll up door components APU systems Completing general repairs using hand tools, jacks, hoists, and specialized equipment Reading and interpreting manuals, schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings Ordering necessary parts and supporting inventory management Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area Providing on the job training to junior technicians and helpers Making warranty recommendations and documenting all work accurately What You Bring to the Team High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 2 years of tractor maintenance experience Ability to independently complete advanced repairs Strong mechanical aptitude and commitment to safety Preferred Associate s degree in Heavy Duty Truck Technology or related field 3 or more years of tractor maintenance experience Ability to independently complete advanced repairs Knowledge and Skills to Be Successful Strong diagnostic and mechanical troubleshooting abilities across tractor and trailer systems Proficiency with diagnostic equipment, computerized instrumentation, and maintenance documentation ABS brake system certification Eligibility for Minnesota State DOT inspector certification Strong communication and interpersonal skills Professional appearance and adherence to grooming standards Ability to work effectively with team members at all levels of the organization Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair documentation

The Trailer Technician II performs advanced maintenance and repairs on trailer units in compliance with Koch Companies and DOT standards. This role focuses on inspections, diagnostics, and repairs across tires, lights, bodywork, suspension, electrical systems, and more. You will work independently, maintain a safe work environment, and represent Koch Companies with professionalism. Essential Job Functions Practice safe work habits by adhering to all Koch Companies policies, procedures, and standards. Perform scheduled maintenance and advanced repairs, including all skills from Trailer Tech I checklist, plus: DOT Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable State and Federal regulations, conducting regular inspections and repairs. Brake System: Adjustments and Inspections (Air and Electric), Full Air Brake Replacement (Shoes, Pads, Drums), Air Brake Troubleshooting (Valves, Chambers, Air Lines) Air Ride System Troubleshooting & Repairs Landing Gear Repairs Structural Repairs: Roof Patching, Floor Repairs (Wood/Composite) Door Repairs: Roll-Up and Swing Door Replacement Liftgate Service: Component Inspection and Repairs Electrical Repairs: Trailer Wiring Issues (Lights, ABS), ABS Sensor Replacement Basic Reefer/Heater Maintenance: Preventative Maintenance, Battery, Belts, Alternator Order necessary parts from the parts department or use parts on-site, ensuring all items are brought to the work area. Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, technical drawings, wiring, and schematics Maintain a clean work area, including putting away tools, sweeping, etc., as needed.
