Devops Architect Our client is one of largest retailers in the world. Yet their IT department is nimble and dynamic and works with cutting edge technologies. Their Application Development Department has an opening for a Devops Architect. This position is Contract and located in Pleasanton, California. Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Should be Hands On architect to be able to work on POCs, independently. Lead the build vs buy discussion when it comes to choosing the tools & platforms. Identify and introduce new technologies, patterns that can elevate the platform across the enterprise. Mentor solution architects and technical leads to help build effective engineering practices. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering and 8 years of experience OR Master's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering and 5 years of experience. 3 years of experience in software architecture & design. 1 years of experience in cloud services architecture, technical design, and implementations including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS Experience in cloud computing application implementations on Azure or Google Cloud is a required Strong background in creating secure cloud architectures for customer facing applications that are enterprise grade and highly scalable. Experience with build-time dependency management (e.g. Ant, Maven); unit testing and code- coverage tools; test automation techniques and tools; and build automation tools (e.g. Jenkins,) tools are required. Excellent understanding of micro-services architecture, design patterns, and standard methodologies with an eye towards scale, automation, resiliency, high availability, and disaster recovery. Excellent understanding of networking, load balancing, security, config, and certificate management. Excellent understanding of Kafka and different integration and middleware tools. Good understanding of architectural principles involved in SaaS and multi-tenant platforms.
