Overview We are seeking a Power Transformer Specialist - Medium Voltage, High Voltage, and Extra High Voltage to join the Technical Services Division of Power Systems Projects & Technical Support Department. The Technical Services Division is responsible for providing and managing highly technical and specialized engineering services to support the safe and reliable operation of Saudi Aramco electrical power system generation, transmission and distribution networks. The power transformer engineer works under transformers unit within technical services unit. Your primary role is to perform the required support and provide high level technical advices with regards to transmission and distribution power transformers starting with selection and ending with retirement of assets; with thorough understanding of different designs, manufacturers, installations and issues related to the field. Key Responsibilities As a successful candidate you will be required to perform the following: Serves as Subject Matter Expert in equipment failures and repair techniques during root cause investigations. Perform Root Cause Analysis on all critical equipment failures. Perform continuous review of power transformers' maintenance programs to identify improvements to ensure the HV asset's safe and reliable operation. Provides technical consultation to the maintenance agency as required in identifying and reviewing critical spare parts list of existing equipment. Provides technical consultation to assess the condition of aging power transformers. Provide technical expertise on troubleshooting failures, repairs, and evaluating if the equipment is designed to meet its intended or existing service conditions. Provides technical engineering inputs on repair details and offers onsite technical support, especially for critical power transformers. Provides engineering input for power transformer work packages to ensure Saudi Aramco standards and material specifications are followed. Represent the organization in industry and professional organizations, users' group, which address or govern electrical codes and standards. Review and update company standards and be familiar with international standards. Possess strong technical training, speaking, writing, and customer service skills. Minimum Requirements As the successful candidate you will hold a: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university. Advanced degree and Professional Engineering certificates; such as: chartership or PE are a plus. Minimum of 8 years In Power Transformer Operation and Maintenance experience demonstrated by suitable companies primarily related to Power Transformer Design. Demonstrate distinct experience as transformer specialist; such as: contribution in international conferences as Transformer specialist or employment by leading Power Transformer Manufacturer. Have deep technical level insight in Transformer construction and design practices covering Distribution and Transmission type transformers related to diagnostic testing, Condition Assessment, aging characteristics / symptoms related to corrosion. Familiarity with transformers Factory Acceptance Test in a leading capacity demonstrating depth of compliance with manufacturing standards such as IEC. Participate as member in the relevant CIGRE Working Group. Ability to multi-task and manage changing priorities and seek opportunities to improve results and processes proactively, contributing to the goals, safety, and profitability of the company.
