The Department of Veterans Affairs Houston Healthcare System is seeking a full-time Clinical Director to join our team in Lufkin, TX. The Clinical Director will oversee the community-based clinic and perform 50% clinical and 50% administrative duties. The candidate will facilitate the delivery of primary, acute, and chronic health care to our veterans. The physician will exercise medical decision-making and provide a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services. The physician will be involved in direct patient care, patient and family teaching, staff education and multidisciplinary consultations and collaborations. In this role, the physician will also participate in educating PA and NP students, residents, medical students, and interns. In addition, the physician will supervise mid-level practitioners. The ideal candidate will exhibit leadership in initiating changes in patient care programs based on current concepts and findings from research and/or studies. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 5:30pm with rotating day off; Includes extended hours and some Saturdays.
