Seeking highly qualified and experienced transportation Construction Inspectors who have worked on VDOT, locality and/or Design-Build projects. The Inspector is responsible for managing and performing daily construction management and inspection services for various types of VDOT, Design-Build and locality transportation projects. Must have experience in transportation construction, have VDOT certifications, be proficient at reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and shop drawings as well as overseeing construction document controls and enforcing contract compliance. Key Responsibilities: Oversee contractor operations to ensure compliance with contract documents, design specifications, and permit requirements. Coordinate inspection activities across multiple active work crews. Track daily work quantities and complete detailed inspection documentation. Prepare daily reports, monthly estimates, and as-built drawings. Conduct field inspections, materials testing, and maintain accurate testing logs. Review and validate contractor pay estimates. Support project engineers with field data, sketches, and reports. Maintain project diaries and document deficiencies or field issues. Review contractor schedules (CPM and monthly updates). Communicate regularly with engineers, owners, and stakeholders to maintain alignment and transparency. Uphold a proactive, solution-oriented approach throughout all phases of construction. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or State Equivalency Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred. 3+ years of hands-on construction inspection experience with an emphasis on roadway, bridge, utility construction, and pavement rehabilitation. Proficiency in interpreting plans, specifications, and technical drawings. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Comfortable working night shifts and overtime as required. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Certifications & Training (Required): VDOT materials certifications: Asphalt (Asphalt Field Level I & II) Soils and Aggregate Compaction Pavement Marking VDOT Intermediate Work Zone Safety or ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) WACEL or ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I Preferred Qualifications: Prior VDOT experience Additional VDOT certifications: GRIT, Slurry, Surface Treatment DEQ Erosion & Sediment Control Inspector DEQ Stormwater Management Inspector OSHA-10 Construction Safety e-Construction platform experience (PlanGrid, e-Builder, Procore, Fieldwire, etc.) Bachelor's Degree or advanced technical certifications Physical Requirements (Essential Functions): This position requires the ability to perform a variety of physical tasks in the field as part of the essential job functions. Duties may include: Walking and navigating across rough or uneven terrain such as mud, rocks, grass, dirt, steep hillsides, heavily wooded areas, and other unpaved surfaces Moving around active project sites, which may involve climbing ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, or poles Performing physical activities such as bending, twisting, kneeling, and climbing Remaining in a stationary position-either standing or sitting-for extended periods of time Repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers Lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds and/or carting objects up to 50 lbs distances up to100 yards. Driving to and from project sites which may involve distances of up to or exceeding 120 miles round trip. Must be able to function safely in an environment with potential risks, including, but not limited to those described in this document. Work from heights exceeding 6 feet Must be able to wear a properly fitted safety harness and be knowledgeable of the correct use and of regular inspection of the harness and components Must be willing to work nights and overtime, when required by the project assignment The work environment may include exposure to a range of environmental conditions, including high and low temperatures, precipitation, and other outdoor elements. We are seeking a highly skilled Mission Critical Professional Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team responsible for the design and analysis of high-reliability electrical systems supporting mission critical environments and data centers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering with a focus on power distribution, redundancy, system resilience, and energy efficiency in mission critical applications. This is an onsite position in our Baltimore, MD office. Responsibilities The engineer shall be able to lead medium to large electrical design projects and direct junior-level engineers. The engineer must excel at collaboration with clients, the design team, and contractors. Other responsibilities may include developing fee proposals and managing project budgets. Technical Requirements A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited program is required Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the state of Maryland required 16+ years of relevant progressive experience including experience in a Lead Engineer role on mission critical and/or data center projects Design experience with the following: One-line diagrams and specifications for mission critical electrical components, including UPS systems, generators, medium voltage switchgear, and static transfer switches. This is your chance to join our team - help us to design the infrastructure that improve the world! We have an immediate opening for a Senior Bridge Engineer in our Tampa, FL office. This position will play an important role in expanding our market presence in Florida and supporting our Bridge Group companywide. Core responsibilities will include performing the design of new bridges and bridge widening/rehabilitation projects; performing evaluation, inspection, and load rating services for existing bridges; providing technical oversight and/or Quality Assurance/Quality Control reviews; and mentoring younger staff. Successful candidates will have experience designing major concrete and/or steel bridge projects and shall have a demonstrated ability to develop bridge engineering plans primarily for public sector clients including FDOT and other state departments of transportation, municipal clients, and other public entities. Our transportation contracts include a wide variety of structure types ranging from miscellaneous structures (culverts, signal and sign supports, noise walls, etc.) to major concrete and steel bridges.
