KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform primary and revision total joint arthroplasties. Provide preoperative and postoperative care for joint replacement patients. Take general orthopedic trauma call (4 weekdays per month on average). No primary call (always a PA/resident in-house). Two employed traumatologists are available to manage complex cases. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including residents (UConn), physical therapists, physician assistants (robust team of >10 PAs), and other specialists, to ensure comprehensive patient care. Utilize the latest surgical techniques and technologies for minimally invasive treatments, including arthroscopy and robotic-assisted surgery to improve patient outcomes. Wide array of case mix to include General, Orthopedic, OB/GYN, ENT, Plastics, and Urologic. No complex pediatrics, burns, or transplants. Hospital employed W2 position.
