Job Description Job Description Production Operator (2nd Shift) Key Details Location: Carpentersville, IL 60110 Duration: 6 month Contract Schedule: 1st Shift: 7:00 AM-3:30 PM CT 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM-11:30 PM CT 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM-7:30 AM CT Hours: 40 hours per week; overtime may be required, including 12-hour shifts and occasional weekends on short notice Work Arrangement: Onsite Compensation: 1st Shift: $18.90-$21.00/hour 2nd Shift: $20.03-$22.25/hour 3rd Shift: $20.48-$22.75/hour Employment Type: W2 (not open to C2C, 1099, or visa sponsorship) Role Overview Our client is seeking Production Operators to support daily manufacturing operations in a hands-on production environment. This role is responsible for operating equipment, performing changeovers, supporting quality and safety standards, handling raw materials, and preparing finished products for shipment. The position requires strong attendance, flexibility for overtime, and the ability to work safely in a dusty industrial environment while wearing required PPE. Responsibilities Follow all safety requirements and participate in safety-related activities, including safety talks, observations, and audits Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment during daily production Perform machine changeovers, including disassembly, assembly, and cleaning Follow daily production schedules and report unresolved production or quality issues promptly Stage packaging areas, lift and load materials, bag or box finished products, and prepare items for shipment Operate forklifts to move raw materials and finished products to designated areas Use hand tools to degate or deflash materials as needed Empty trash and waste into compactors or dumpsters Organize, handle, weigh, and measure raw materials Follow standard operating procedures and lockout/tagout procedures for assigned tasks Perform standard quality control tests and accurately record production data Complete basic equipment maintenance tasks, troubleshooting, and repairs where applicable Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of tools and equipment Qualifications Minimum 6 months of previous production or manufacturing experience High school diploma or GED required Ability to work overtime or weekends on short notice as needed Ability to train on 1st shift during the first week before moving to assigned shift Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine correspondence, and communicate effectively in English Basic math and computer skills Ability to follow written and verbal operating procedures and lockout/tagout procedures Ability to multitask and work independently as well as part of a team Strong attendance and reliability Ability to stand for up to 12 hours Ability to walk, climb, bend, kneel, twist, and lift at least 55 lbs. Ability to comply with respiratory fit testing requirements Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, dust, strong odors, and loud noise while using PPE Ability to climb stairs and ladders and work at heights up to 25 feet Ability to wear required PPE, including long pants, long sleeves, steel-toed boots, gloves, hard hat, safety goggles, earplugs, and a respirator Preferred Qualifications Mechanically inclined background SAP experience Forklift operating experience Experience performing equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, or basic repairs
