We are seeking an experienced ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION PLANNER reporting to our Pittsburgh, PA office. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Champion our Safety Culture. Build the Work Before We Build the Work. Develop installation plans, work packages, and construction strategies that improve productivity, reduce rework, and support successful project execution. Support Field Installation Teams. Partner closely with project managers, superintendents, foremen, and craft professionals to develop practical installation approaches that align with project schedules, labor plans, fabrication initiatives, and site constraints. Develop Construction Layout Deliverables. Produce and maintain layout drawings, installation details, total station files, and field-ready documentation that supports accurate and efficient installation activities. Drive Model Based Construction Planning. Utilize BIM, VDC, and construction technology platforms to identify conflicts, improve coordination, and support project planning efforts throughout the project lifecycle. Coordinate with Internal and External Stakeholders. Collaborate with owners, engineers, general contractors, trade partners, and internal project teams to resolve design conflicts, clarify scope requirements, and improve constructability. Support Prefabrication and Modular Construction. Identify opportunities to standardize assemblies, improve installation sequencing, and maximize prefabrication strategies to enhance labor productivity and project performance. Perform Constructability Reviews. Evaluate drawings, specifications, and project requirements to identify potential installation challenges, material constraints, access concerns, and sequencing conflicts before they impact field operations. Maintain Accurate Project Documentation. Organize and manage planning files, layout packages, installation drawings, field revisions, and project records within the Sargent standard folder structures and naming conventions, to ensure teams have access to current information. Leverage Construction Technology. Utilize company approved software, layout equipment, technology platforms, and artificial intelligence to improve planning accuracy, coordination efficiency, and field execution. Support Continuous Improvement. Gather feedback from field leadership and project teams to improve planning standards, layout procedures, constructability reviews, and project execution processes. Provide Technical Leadership. Serve as a resource to project teams by sharing electrical construction knowledge, installation best practices, and lessons learned from prior projects. WHAT YOU'LL BRING: Excellent written communication skills. Proficient with computers, particularly Microsoft Office applications, including the ability to type. Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of diverse individuals. Works efficiently under tight timeframes, responds to requests in a timely manner, and communicates effectively as a team player. Understands the importance of being able to multi-task. QUALIFICATIONS: Associate degree in Electrical Construction Technology, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or related field may be considered in combination with relevant electrical construction experience or minimum three (3) years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician, Electrical Foreman, General Foreman, Superintendent, or related electrical construction leadership role. Experience supporting mission critical, commercial, industrial, healthcare, or other large scale commercial construction projects. Experience with BIM, VDC, constructability reviews, and model-based coordination processes. Proficiency with Bluebeam, Navisworks, Procore, and similar construction technology platforms. Familiarity with electrical prefabrication, modular construction, and lean construction practices. Demonstrated ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, submittals, and construction documents. Working knowledge of electrical installation methods, project sequencing, and field construction practices.
