APSI is leading the buildout of a Southeast expansion for a well-established, employee-owned distribution company. The Matthews, NC location is the launch point. We are looking for a Market Leader who will own this market - driving outside sales, building relationships, leading the team, and serving as the primary point of communication with Corporate. This role is built for a leader who operates with a "Know the Way, Go the Way, Show the Way" mindset - someone who can personally drive revenue, lead a team, and help build the foundation for regional expansion. You will not inherit a fully built system. You will help build it. What This Role Is Responsible For Sales & Market Leadership (Primary Focus) Personally drive outside sales activity across the Charlotte market Build and maintain relationships with contractors, plumbers, builders, and property managers Develop and execute a targeted market growth strategy Create and manage a consistent, visible sales pipeline in CRM Identify and pursue new business opportunities and key accounts Position the company as a relationship-driven partner, not just a supplier Partner with vendors and manufacturers to support growth and customer engagement Branch Leadership & Team Development Lead and develop a high-performance, accountable team Set clear expectations, KPIs, and scorecards for all roles Conduct weekly execution-focused team meetings Coach team members on customer engagement, product knowledge, and service delivery Hire and onboard team members as the branch grows Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and performance Operational Oversight Oversee branch performance with a focus on revenue, margin, and efficiency Partner with Warehouse Operations to ensure fast and accurate fulfillment Monitor inventory to support sales demand while maintaining healthy turns Use data to drive decisions across sales and operations Ensure systems, SOPs, and processes are implemented and followed Corporate Communication & Alignment Serve as the primary communication bridge between the branch and Corporate Provide weekly reporting on sales performance, operations, and key issues Communicate market needs, risks, and opportunities proactively Align branch execution with broader company strategy Regional Expansion Contribution Support expansion into NC, SC, GA, and VA Identify new market opportunities and customer segments Contribute to building the operating playbook for future locations Provide real-time market intelligence to leadership Who This Role Is Built For (Non-Negotiable Profile) We are looking for a leader who: Spends the majority of their time in the market, not behind a desk Builds revenue through relationships, not just pricing Can lead a team while personally selling Has experience building, growing, or launching a location or territory Communicates clearly upward to Corporate and downward to the team Thrives in environments where structure is being built, not handed to them Is confident, competitive, and driven by results What This Role Is NOT A warehouse manager who occasionally sells An order-taker waiting for customers to walk in A desk-based manager removed from the market A reactive operator without a growth mindset What Winning Looks Like in the First 90 Days Active and growing sales pipeline established in CRM Strong presence built within the Charlotte contractor market Weekly reporting cadence established with Corporate Team aligned with clear roles, expectations, and accountability Existing accounts protected and expanding Foundation in place for scalable operations and future expansion Qualifications & Experience Proven sales leadership experience in plumbing wholesale, PVF, HVAC, or related distribution Strong understanding of contractor sales cycles and pricing strategies Track record of driving revenue growth and improving margins Experience leading teams and holding accountability to performance metrics Comfortable with CRM, ERP systems, and data-driven decision making Based in the Charlotte market or willing to relocate Strongly Preferred: Existing relationships within the Charlotte contractor or construction market Experience opening or scaling a branch, territory, or new market Leadership Traits (Critical) Integrity - owns outcomes, no excuses Accountability - takes responsibility for results Execution - delivers consistently Ownership mindset - thinks like a business owner Communication - clear, proactive, and direct Compensation & Ownership Opportunity Base Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 Performance Bonus tied directly to revenue growth and profitability Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) participation This is not just a compensation package - it is an ownership opportunity.
