Job Description Job Description JOB SUMMARY: Serves as project technical source to project management, construction supervision, and crafts to ensure construction/maintenance work complies with applicable codes, drawings and specifications. Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of client requirements, construction documents, subcontracts, and purchase orders. Coordinates change orders, expedite material, prepares project estimates, maintains project cost control, initiates close-out activities, and similar functions. Must be able to travel & stay on project sites for project duration. TYPICAL DUTIES: • Ensure project engineering activities comply with company and contract requirements and support overall construction schedule. • Provide technical support for construction effort including participation in construction planning and design; interpretation of design; application of construction methods; resolution and documentation of design conflicts; constructability reviews, etc. • Develop, implement and administer project engineering procedures and other work controlling documents. • May assist with the Project Risk Register including the documentation of contingency calculations and contingency transfer. • Represent company, project and/or department during A/E, client and project management meetings. • Interface all on-site departments as required to resolve problems, ensure quality of construction, etc. in support of overall project schedule. • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts in project work plan and schedule. • Review and monitor work orders and requests for planners and superintendents. • Resolve issues and conflicts with and for subcontractors regarding contracts, work plans and schedules. • May provide technical support and direction of project material control functions, including ordering materials, and the implementation and operation of maintenance program. • May assist with, or perform duties in, document control, scheduling, cost control, progress tracking and subcontractor management processes. • Interpret drawings for craft supervisors. • Identify design issues, conflicts, interferences, and errors; research and recommend resolutions. Create RFI's and applicable tracking logs. • Create and updates equipment list and tracking logs • Creates and updates transmittal logs • Creates and updates submittal logs • Coordinate site visits/vendor qualification visits (as required) • Create change orders • Monitor job budget and request additional cost codes as required Track quantities Use project management software Project Engineer • Establish burn rate for equipment • Track costs are incurred by cycle (including labor) • Code invoices • Update requisition logs • Create and share meeting minutes • Create and share updates to schedule • Oversee project payment application (billing) process • Resolves issues with budget vs. cost variances • Verify all completed work complies with applicable codes, drawings and specifications. • Prepare and disseminate all required documentation records such as status reports, punch lists describing work items to be done, sketches and measurements of work already completed, material requirement calculations, required equipment, etc., to supervisor. • Responsible for document control function (cataloguing and managing drawings and specifications) per company standards. • Prepare drawings, sketches, lift plans, etc. to support construction/manufacturing work, change orders, estimates, etc. • May perform surveying duties of necessary building control lines and elevations for accurate measurement and correct installation of materials. • Perform additional technical, management and administrative tasks per supervisor's direction. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A four-year engineering, construction, or related degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience as well as a minimum of three years heavy industrial construction engineering/manufacturing experience. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES: • Advanced knowledge of construction/manufacturing equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications, materials and required standards applicable to discipline; plus, an in-depth understanding of the interdependence and relationship between other functional units required. • Ability to perform a variety of mathematical calculations including trigonometry. • Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively with others. • Solid knowledge of estimating, scheduling and budget / cost control concepts. • Proficiency with standard office software. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments with possible exposure to noise, dust, fumes, noxious odors, gases, mechanical and electrical hazards, moving objects, sharp edges, and all types of weather and temperature conditions. Occasional or frequent air travel with overnight stays. Must be able to travel and stay at project for entire duration PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • Manual dexterity, sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time. • Frequent climbing stairs / ladders, bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, reaching, and crouching. • Occasional work on ladders, scaffolding, or high structures. • Visual acuity to read printed and electronic documents. • Hearing capacity to receive, perceive, and react to common construction environment auditory stimuli. • Lifting and / or exerting of force up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds of lifting / force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of lifting / force constantly to move objects; and • Frequent driving of motor vehicles. Job Description Job Description JOB SUMMARY: The EHS Specialist supports a project by assisting in the administration of EHS programs to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. TYPICAL DUTIES: • Support corporate and project-specific initiatives under the supervision of more experienced EHS professionals. • Conduct regular walk through inspections of construction areas. • Participate in employee EHS on-boarding program to include new hire mentoring assignments. • Participate in project ongoing EHS training program (with training matrix). • Participate in emergency action plans (site evacuation, confined space, high angle, trench, chemical rescue, etc.). • Participate in Project Weekly Safety Meetings and frequently attend crew daily safety meetings (Toolbox Talks). • Participate in EHS risk analysis for project scope of work • Participate in EHS incident investigations / root cause analysis • Promote stop work authority with employees. • Participate in tool and equipment inspections. • Identify, document and recommend resolution of hazardous/potential hazardous conditions; follow through to insure corrections have been made. • Investigate personal injury and property damage accidents. • Compile data, photographs, etc.; prepare all pertinent forms and reports per program procedures and federal, state, local regulations associated with accidents. • Conduct various industrial hygiene samplings, such as gas, 02, noise test to insure safe working conditions. • Issue various entry permits (i.e. to confined spaces). • Assist in conducting employee/craft and insurance inspectors on walk through tours. May accompany federal, state and insurance inspectors on walk through tours. • Assist in emergency rescues. • Assist in maintaining fire protection and grounding systems. • Maintain all consumable health and environmental protection supplies at a level sufficient to ensure no interruption of project activities. • Willing and able to travel as required. • Willing and able to gain additional training, certificate, education, and clearances as required. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Associate degree in occupational safety/health. (Significant additional EHS experience may be considered in lieu of degree.) • At least two years construction and/or industrial EHS experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Advanced education and training/certification in safety management such as Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST), Safety Trained Supervisor Construction (STSC) and OSHA/MSHA 30 Hour preferred.
