Morgan Legal Group, P.C. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney with approximately 2 years of experience in estate planning, probate, and estate administration to join our growing Trusts & Estates practice. This role is ideal for an attorney looking to build a long-term career in trusts and estates while gaining hands-on experience managing client matters, appearing in Surrogate's Court, and working alongside experienced practitioners in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will assist with and manage a variety of estate planning, probate, estate administration, trust administration, and guardianship matters throughout New York State. Responsibilities Draft estate planning documents, including Wills, Revocable and Irrevocable Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Health Care Proxies, and Living Wills Handle probate and administration proceedings from inception through completion under attorney supervision as needed Prepare petitions, affidavits, accountings, and other Surrogate's Court filings Assist executors, administrators, trustees, and beneficiaries with estate and trust administration matters Conduct client consultations and gather information necessary for estate planning and administration Appear in New York Surrogate's Courts and related proceedings Draft legal correspondence, memoranda, and court filings Coordinate with financial institutions, accountants, title companies, and other professionals involved in estate matters Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with court deadlines Assist with Article 81 Guardianship proceedings and related matters Support trust and estate litigation matters when necessary Manage assigned caseload while providing exceptional client service Qualifications Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school Active admission and good standing with the New York State Bar Approximately 2 years of experience in estate planning, probate, estate administration, or trusts and estates law Working knowledge of New York Surrogate's Court Procedure Act (SCPA), Estates, Powers and Trusts Law (EPTL), and related statutes Experience drafting estate planning documents and preparing probate filings Strong legal writing, research, analytical, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple deadlines and client matters simultaneously Professional, compassionate, and client-focused demeanor Experience with Clio, Microsoft Office, and legal practice management software preferred Compensation & Benefits Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 annually, based on experience Hybrid work flexibility Annual billable requirement of 1,700 hours Paid New York State and Federal Holidays Two (2) weeks Paid Time Off (PTO) $350 Monthly Health Benefit Stipend (after eligibility requirements are met) 401(k) retirement plan eligibility after one year of employment
