Job Description Job Description CNC Press Brake Operator / Set Up CD Staffing is a locally owned and operated staffing firm based in Orlando, Florida with locations throughout Florida, North Carolina, and Tennessee. We currently have an opening with a large, well-known company in Orlando Area looking for a Press Brake Operator / Set Up - Pay Rate DOE $19-24 an hour POSITION SUMMARY : Responsible for setting up and operating CNC press brake equipment to form precision metal parts according to customer specifications, blueprints, job requirements, and quality standards. Performs tooling changes, machine adjustments, part inspections, and production activities while ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate operation of equipment. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Set up, adjust, and operate CNC press brake equipment to bend and form metal parts according to blueprints, customer specifications, job requirements, and quality standards. 2. Perform complete machine setup including selecting, installing, and aligning proper tooling and dies; setting up programs, back gages, bend sequences, machine parameters, and required adjustments to produce conforming parts. 3. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, job cards, specifications, and work instructions to determine setup requirements, dimensions, bend angles, tolerances, and material specifications; modify CNC press brake programs, bend sequences, machine parameters, and program settings as required; and verify initial setup and production parts using appropriate measuring equipment to ensure parts meet blueprint specifications and quality requirements. 4. Perform press brake operations involving various materials, thicknesses, angles, radii, and multi-step forming processes while maintaining accuracy and efficiency. 5. Perform monthly machine inspections and communicate maintenance, tooling, or equipment concerns as needed. 6. Monitor production processes, troubleshoot forming issues, and make machine adjustments as needed to maintain part quality and production efficiency. 7. Identify and communicate quality concerns, equipment issues, tooling problems, and opportunities for process improvements. 8. Accurately record production information using required systems, including scanning job cards and entering data into the system, including start and stop times, production quantities, scrap quantities, job status and location of finished parts. 9. Maintain a clean and organized work area, actively participate in continual improvement activities, and support company safety initiatives. 10. Follow all company policies, procedures, ISO requirements, and safety standards, including proper operation of equipment and use of required personal protective equipment (PPE). 11. Perform other duties as assigned to support efficient press room operations. QUALIFICATIONS 12. Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 13. Experience: • Previous manufacturing, fabrication, or machine operation experience preferred. • CNC press brake setup and operation experience preferred. • Experience working in a metal stamping or fabrication environment preferred. 14. Knowledge & Skills: Strong troubleshooting skills. Understanding CNC programming and ability to modify machine programs as required. • Understanding of bend angles, radii, material thickness, and basic forming principles. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and work instructions. • Basic shop math skills including fractions, decimals and measurements. • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify quality concerns. • Ability to read and understand English for job instructions, safety materials and documentation. • Ability to use precision measuring equipment including tape measures, calipers, angle gages, micrometers and height gages or willingness to learn advanced measuring equipment. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while supporting team objectives. • Effective communication and teamwork skills. • Safety and quality-oriented mindset. 15. Technical: Basic computer skills including ERP or production management systems. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS 16. Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs. as needed. 17. Ability to perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements throughout the shift. 18. Ability to safely handle tooling, dies, materials and finished parts. 19. Work performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, oil, and moving machinery, tooling, material handling equipment, and varying temperatures. 20. Must follow all PPE requirements, machine guarding, lockout/tagout, and safety guidelines. 21. Exposure to hazards associated with metal forming equipment, tooling, material handling activities, and manufacturing operations. 22. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining quality, productivity, and safety standards.
