Under the general supervision of the City Prosecutor, is responsible for participating in the prosecution of cases in the City court and performs other related duties as required. Represents the State throughout the life of a misdemeanor case including arraignments, pre-trial conferences, change of plea hearings, bench trials, jury trials, appeals, and petitions for post conviction relief. Monitor trends in criminal justice issues and recommends improvements and/ or changes as needed. Support the relationship between the City and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with citizens, community members, visitors, and City staff; and complies with all City policies and procedures. Education, Training, and Experience: A Juris Doctor Degree from an accredited American Bar Association Law School OR appropriate education and experience as required for an Arizona Legal Paraprofessional license.
