Job DescriptionJob Description Job Opening: Fitness Equipment Technician / Driver Company: CFF FIT (CFF Strength Equipment) Position Overview CFF FIT is hiring a Fitness Equipment Technician / Driver who is dependable, self-motivated, and mechanically inclined. This role involves commercial fitness equipment extraction, transportation, service, installation, shipping, parts processing, and on-site service work. This is a hands-on, physically demanding position with variable hours, frequent travel, and occasional long days. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and professionalism are required. What We Do at CFF FIT CFF FIT buys, sells, services, installs, trades, extracts, ships, and parts out commercial-grade fitness equipment worldwide. Our work takes place in gyms, schools, government buildings, hospitals, hotels, YMCAs, universities, and private training facilities. Core Responsibilities Equipment Extractions Remove commercial fitness equipment from: Gyms & fitness centers Schools & universities Government buildings Hospitals & hotels YMCAs and private studios Perform work efficiently, cleanly, and professionally Protect client property including walls, floors, stairs, and doorways When equipment does not fit through doorways or is too heavy to move safely, disassembly is required Disassembly responsibilities include: Labeling the machine Labeling all removed components Bagging and labeling all hardware to match the machine for proper reassembly Typical Extraction Days May Include 2-4 hour drive from the store to the job site (paid) 4-10 hour equipment extraction Drive back to the store the same day (paid) Equipment unloading the following day Equipment Service (In-House & On-Site) Service and maintain commercial fitness equipment including: Treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, and stepmills Selectorized and plate-loaded machines Benches and other commercial gym equipment Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and repairs Learn through hands-on training, manuals, and independent research Shipping & Logistics Load and pack equipment for: Freight shipping Overseas container shipping Crating and palletizing Customer vehicle loading When equipment must fit on or within a specific skid or crate size, disassembly is required Properly label machines, parts, and hardware Carefully package electronics (consoles, screens, control boards, wiring) to prevent transit damage Plan truck and container loads efficiently - thinking ahead like Tetris Parts Disassembly, Testing & Refurbishment Disassemble equipment for the purpose of using, refurbishing, or selling individual parts Responsibilities include: Identifying salvageable components Testing parts for functionality Labeling parts accurately Refurbishing parts when applicable Boxing parts for shipment or shelving parts for inventory Maintain organized parts storage to support service, sales, and inventory accuracy Service Calls Travel to customer locations for preventative maintenance and repair calls Diagnose issues and repair equipment on-site when possible Communicate clearly and professionally with customers and teammates Required Qualifications Must be able to speak, read, and understand English Must be able to obtain required clearances (We regularly work in schools and government buildings) Self-motivated, reliable, and detail-oriented Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to learn through instruction, manuals, and self-guided research Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Able to pass: Drug test DOT physical Comfortable driving: 26' box trucks Vans Pickup trucks CDL not required Physically capable of lifting 75 lbs independently and heavier weights with team lifts Comfortable with early mornings, long days, and variable schedules Tools You Are Required to Know How to Use Multimeter Calipers Tap and die set Power drill and saw Pneumatic rivet gun Miter saw Hammer and pry bar Ability to identify and properly use: Wrenches, screwdrivers, sockets Screws, bolts, fasteners, and thread checkers Tools You Will Use Daily Power drill and saw Pneumatic rivet gun Hand truck Pallet jack Forklift Hydraulic press (for pressing bearings and other components) Schedule Typical hours: Monday - Thursday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Friday: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM During heavy extraction weeks: Early mornings (as early as 4:00 AM) Late evenings (up to 8:00 PM) Hours can be long and unpredictable Pay, Overtime & Probationary Period Starting pay range: $18 - $30 per hour, based on experience and mechanical ability Overtime is paid after 40 regular hours in a work week All new hires start with a 90-day probationary period This is a testing period to ensure the candidate is a good fit for the company and that the company is the right fit for the candidate During this time, employment may continue, end, or the candidate may choose to leave This probationary period is also a time to shine and prove yourself Performance during the first 90 days determines your long-term hourly pay once you officially join the company Benefits Paid holidays Paid vacation / PTO after 90 days Partial insurance reimbursement Steel-toe boot reimbursement up to $100 after 90 days DOT physical cost reimbursement Company Culture CFF FIT is a Christian company.
