Job Summary: Wiley Drilling, a sister company to Water & Environmental Technologies, is seeking a highly motivated and versatile environmental specialist, geologist, soil scientist, or similar technical professional to join our team. Our ideal candidate is a geologist, environmental engineer/scientist, or civil/geotechnical engineer with a passion for hands-on fieldwork, particularly drilling, demonstrates attention to detail, dependability, and the ability to transition into consulting work when needed. Key Responsibilities: Utilize effective written and oral communication Perform staff-level scientist/engineer duties including soil and groundwater sampling, well design and construction, and lithology descriptions using USGS or USDA methodolog Operate drilling equipment for environmental and geotechnical investigations Work outdoors in various weather conditions (Approx 90%) Travel to WILEY job sites (Approx 75%) Always be safety conscious Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science/Engineering, Civil/Geotechnical Engineering, or related degree from an ABET accredited College or University Valid Driver's License and insurability under company policy required Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must successfully complete and pass a DOT drug and alcohol test prior to employment Must be able to obtain a Class B CDL with Airbrake Endorsement within the first 6 months of employment Must be willing to learn to operate drilling equipment using direct push and rotary tooling Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Experience in environmental consulting or civil/geotechnical fieldwork OSHA HAZWOPER Certification CPR/First Aid Training Class B CDL Experience operating heavy machinery Welding skills Problem solving Work Environment: Combination of office work and fieldwork in various weather conditions.
