We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Trailer Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various types of trailers, ensuring they are safe and operational. This role requires a strong background in TRAILER/vehicle maintenance and repair, as well as the ability to work with heavy equipment and machinery. We have several shifts currently / with complete hours of operations are Monday-Friday, 6 am - midnight. Responsibilities Conduct thorough inspections of trailers to identify issues and necessary repairs. Perform routine maintenance on trailers, including brake adjustments, tire rotations, and electrical system checks. Repair or replace damaged components such as axles, brakes, and suspension systems. Utilize diagnostic tools to troubleshoot mechanical problems effectively. Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment safely while performing repairs or moving trailers. Maintain a clean and organized work area, always adhering to safety protocols. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repair tasks. Requirements Trailer repair experience required Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on trailers - chassis - light truck repairs Experience with repairs including brakes, air system, lighting, landing gears, and doors Needs to be able to do major body work including panel replacement and bottom/top rail repairs. Diesel experiences helpful Some welding experience Must be able to work independently and safely Ability to be a dependable team player Major shop tools and diagnostic equipment is provided Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during repairs (up to 50 pounds). Familiarity with farm machinery and Caterpillar equipment / RV trailers is a plus. Experience operating heavy equipment is beneficial. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Intermodal Trailer & Chassis Mechanic Location: St. Louis, MO (Metro Region) Work Model: On-site / Shop-based Role Overview AAA Truck & Trailer Services is looking for an experienced Mechanic to maintain and repair intermodal trailers, containers, and chassis. Join a stable, 30-year industry leader with a consistent Monday-Friday schedule and no weekend work. What You'll Do Perform full inspections and preventative maintenance on intermodal equipment. Conduct major body work, including panel replacements and top/bottom rail repairs. Repair and maintain brake systems, air systems, lighting, and landing gear. Troubleshoot and fix container doors and flooring. Operate forklifts and heavy equipment to move units within the yard. Ensure all repairs meet safety and operational standards. You'll be a fit if You have years of experience specifically with intermodal equipment. You can work independently without needing your hand held. You take pride in clean, safe, and professional-grade repairs. You want a stable "home" for your career with a 30-year-old company. Not a fit if You are looking for an entry-level or apprentice role (experience is required). You have trouble maintaining a consistent 7:30 AM start time. You do not have a background in heavy-duty trailer or chassis bodywork. Schedule / Shift Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (No weekends) What You'll Need Required: Proven experience in intermodal trailer, container, or chassis repair. Technical: Strong knowledge of air/brake systems and structural trailer repair. Physical: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a hands-on shop environment. General: Valid driver's license and a track record of punctuality. Nice to Have Welding and metal fabrication experience. Previous experience operating heavy yard equipment or forklifts.
