The lifeguard role at Greystone Golf & Country Club is responsible for supervising the aquatic facility and/or aquatic activities to ensure the safety of all those involved. The lifeguard also maintains all areas in and around the Aquatic Facility. Essential Functions: • Respond with urgency and accuracy to aquatic emergencies • Provide proper medical care within the scope of training • Know & enforce all aquatic rules, procedures, policies, and guidelines • Maintain constant surveillance of water and pool deck areas • Take and record chemical readings • Maintain cleanliness of Aquatics facilities • Assist in daily pool cleaning - facilitated by pool maintenance • Address member needs and concerns with urgency and care • Report issues and violations to supervisors • Handle equipment as assigned • Take ownership of the pool and responsibilities • Secure the facility at the close of business & and inspect when reopening • Report injuries to supervisor and fill out the required and appropriate forms • Maintain knowledge of and promote Club programs and membership • Perform a check of all safety/emergency equipment at the start of a scheduled shift Requirements: • Must be 16 years of age or older. • Must hold a current Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification (we are able to recertify for lifeguards but not initial certification). • Must be able to work outdoors, in a team environment, for up to eight-hour shifts. • Must have a pleasant, professional demeanor. • Must be able to have patience with adults and children alike. • Previous guarding experience preferred but not required. In this role, you'll lead all aspects of our summer swim program, from organizing practices and competitive swim meets to planning team socials and a memorable end-of-season celebration. You'll mentor swimmers of all skill levels, support assistant coaches, and foster a culture that balances competition with fun, safety, and personal growth. This position includes a schedule of 20-25 hours per week (can obtain more hours with swim lessons or lifeguarding), including mornings, evenings, and weekends) and the opportunity to build strong relationships with swimmers and families.
