Physician Assistant Madigan Army Medical Center Statement of Work (SOW) Background: The Physician Assistant (P.A.) shall provide comprehensive primary and specialty healthcare services to active-duty military personnel, retirees, and eligible family members at Madigan Army Medical Center. The P.A. shall independently evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide variety of medical conditions, collaborating with other healthcare professionals and military staff as necessary. Place of Performance: Madigan Army Medical Center (MAMC), Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Tacoma, Washington Period of Performance: 4 Option Years Schedule: A session is defined as one hour. The contractor will normally provide 8 (1) hour sessions per day, 5 days per week, excluding Federal Holidays. Work hours will normally be between 07:00-16:00 with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. These hours may be adjusted to meet the needs of the institution. The contractor shall not normally exceed 40 hours per week. Requirements: - Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program. - Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). - Possess a current, unrestricted license to practice in any U.S. state or territory. - Hold a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. - Valid DEA Registration. - Minimum of three (3) years of recent clinical experience as a PA in a primary care, family medicine, internal medicine, or similar setting. - U.S. Citizen able to pass a background investigation and obtain facility credentialing. - Proficient in written and spoken English and in the use of electronic health records (e.g., MHS GENESIS). Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following: - Perform patient evaluations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans. - Diagnose and manage a range of acute and chronic conditions within their scope of practice. - Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions per MAMC protocols. - Accurately document patient encounters in the electronic health record (e.g., MHS GENESIS). - Consult with supervising physicians and refer patients as appropriate. - Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and preventive health. - Participate in clinical meetings, quality assurance, and mandatory trainings. - Manages the daily operation of the clinic and conducts daily sick call, which may include securing health histories from the patient, recording findings and providing clinical evaluations. - Provides a wide range of emergency services, in the absence of the physician.
