Oakland Community College is seeking two (2) full-time Computer Aided Design instructors and possible Program Coordinator who will participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs, courses, and other experiences that will directly result in the educational growth of the students and support advancement of the strategic plan of the program and college. $62,440 - $70,857 Starting Base Salary ($62,440 - $112,678 full salary range for the 2025-26 Salary Schedule). Potential for additional pay: Overload - 60% over base Supplemental contract Coordination of Program - This position will be expected to serve as Program Coordinator for purposes of accreditation. This will include additional tasks outside of your base load assignment. Experience and interest in teaching CAD courses Experience in curriculum development for college-level lecture and laboratory components, if applicable Experience in curriculum development for college-level lecture and laboratory components, if applicable Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff Experience and interest in course assessment Willingness to coordinate adjunct section, books and lab materials, if applicable Interest in reviewing course materials for adoption for personal and adjunct use Recent participation in professional development Experience working with diverse populations Ability to work as a team player in a multi-cultural, diverse working environment Interest in participating in campus and college committees Experience working jointly with laboratory support staff Proficiency using learning management systems (e.g., D2L or Canvas) for course delivery and/or assessment EDUCATION: Master's degree in Computer Aided Design and Drafting OR Bachelor's degree in Computer Aided Design and Drafting and five (5) years of recent work experience in CAD OR Associate's degree in Computer Aided Design and Drafting and eight (8) years of recent work experience in CAD EXPERIENCE: Two years full time (or equivalent) of recent experience teaching is preferred. Responsible for the repair and upkeep of the college physical plant and facilities performing a variety of architectural, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, maintenance and boiler operator assignments. This position is expected to work in a multi-cultural diverse working environment. This description is intended to indicate the types of duties and responsibilities requested of the employee assigned this title. It is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all the duties and responsibilities that may be required: Operates and maintains air handlers, unit ventilators, and other HVAC equipment. Operates and maintains chillers, cooling towers, chilled water pumping systems, and refrigeration equipment. Operates and maintains boilers, heat exchangers, heating water pumping systems, and related equipment. Tests water properties and treats closed loop systems and cooling towers with water treatment chemicals. Repairs plumbing, lighting, electrical, and door hardware. Maintains compliance with fire regulations and OSHA requirements. Utilizes building automation/DDC system to operate equipment efficiently. Assists in construction and renovation of buildings. Performs preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment. Performs all other related maintenance and repair duties, as assigned. Welds or brazes, as required. Performs other duties, as assigned. Ability to work additional hours, as needed. Ability to perform repairs on a wide variety of plumbing, lighting, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment efficiently Ability to maintain appropriate safety standards Ability to direct others Ability to weld to the satisfaction of the supervisor or have successfully completed an Oakland Community College credit welding course EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent.
