Job Summary: The onsite role of a Process Engineer provides technical leadership to enhance safety, quality, yield, and throughput in manufacturing operations. This requires collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve or implement new processes, equipment, and materials that improve cost efficiency and customer satisfaction. The position also supports budgeting, installation, and startup of capital equipment in coordination with internal teams and external contractors. Key responsibilities: 1. Process Engineering Support: Monitors cold heading and stamping all operations to ensure adherence to control plans, validates SPC/MSA data, supports process improvement, and assists in new process development. Owns and monitors process compliance with PFMEAs and Control Plans Analyze SPC trends and MSA data to ensure process control Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement projects Support the development of new manufacturing processes 2. Manufacturing Engineering Support: Drives equipment and layout improvements, leads machine design, tracks tooling lifecycle, and leads continuous improvement in productivity and uptime. Design and modify manufacturing equipment and layouts Track tooling usage, wear, and replacement Lead OEE and downtime reduction efforts Implement Lean initiatives (5S, SMED, visual workspaces) 3. Project Engineering Support: Responsible for the design of equipment and manufacturing processes and components to meet plant requirements including project management, CAD drawings, reliable function, data collection, and project close-out. Projects range from new capital equipment to small redesigns on existing systems. Reverse engineering and redesign activity for existing equipment. Perform reliability engineering including predictive and preventative maintenance. Purchase, organize, and develop project feasibility studies, based on product concepts encompassing basic engineering disciplines. Develop project estimates and financial proposals and prepare and present reports during and after the project close-out. Manage projects from intake through commissioning, contract review, and close-out. What you'll need: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree. Minimum three years' experience in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge and experience with lean manufacturing and problem-solving techniques including Kaizen, 5S and 6σ. Technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods including flow, layout, assembly, and production equipment. Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), PFMEA, process control plans, process flow diagrams, and part routings. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Basic 3D CAD software skills. Nice to haves: Experience in a team-oriented manufacturing environment. Experience in high volume metal stamping, metal forming or automated assembly. Experience with metal finishing and metal treatments. Proven project management experience. Experience within the automotive industry. Experience with SolidWorks/Pro-E systems.
