Starting hourly rate between $29 and $33 We are looking for an Experienced Diesel Technician to join our team in Joliet. The Diesel Technician will strive to meet or exceed goal times for repairs. Able to work unsupervised for extended periods of time and assist in training technicians in lower job classifications. Sign on bonus to paid out in installments : First payment of $500 to be paid after 90 days and second payment $500 to be paid after 180 days. Training & Experience: Experienced Diesel Technicians should possess the following training and experience: • Minimum of six (6) years practical experience or an equivalent combination of related education and experience • Specialized training and/or experience in the overhaul of major components (i.e., Mack - Cummins - Detroit Diesel Engines, etc.) • Be proficient in the use of all tools of the trade (Welding equipment, power tools and shop machinery) Major Function: Properly diagnose, overhaul, adjust and repair all series of truck and trailer equipment including but not limited to the following: • Engines (Gas and Diesel) - Diagnose, remove, and rebuild and reinstallation, as necessary. • Transmissions (Manual & Automatic) - Diagnose, remove rebuild and reinstallation, as necessary. Differential/Power Dividers - Diagnose, remove, rebuild and reinstallation, as necessary. • Starters/Alternators - Diagnose, remove, repair, and replace as censer. • Air Conditioning Systems - Trained/Certified, diagnose electrical and mechanical defects, repair, component replacement, evaluation, and charging. Fan Clutches - Diagnose, remove, rebuild and reinstallation, as necessary. • Power Steering Systems - Diagnose, adjust, and repair, as necessary. • Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems - Diagnose, remove, rebuild, reinstallation, and adjustment, as necessary. Brake certified. • Clutches - Diagnose, remove and reinstallation, as necessary. • PTO Systems - Installation of PTO System and related hydraulic components. Diagnose, remove rebuild and reinstallation and adjustment, as necessary. • Tires - Remove, install and algin chassis. • Engine Electronics (Gas and Diesel) - adjust and repair, as necessary. Working Conditions: • Work outdoors in different weather conditions. • Exposure to used cooking oil odors. Specific Duties: Technician I Employees perform the following functions with no assistance: • Perform all levels of preventative maintenance • Identify and determine parts require for repair of disassembled units • Identify warrantable repairs and document appropriately • Maintain work area appearance and safety • Road test vehicles as necessary • Performance and prospective duties in a timely and efficient matter • All duties of lower job classifications. • Follow all safety rules and procedures. • Fully participate and support all safety initiatives. • Think safety and continually scan the work environment; make suggestions for corrections and improvements. • Other duties as assigned Qualifications Required: • High school diploma or equivalent. • Ability to lift, push or pull up to at least 50 lbs. • Ability to provide the above major functions, specific duties and with the experience listed above. • Good driving record. • Ability to drive automatic transmissions and use of PTO. • Superb communication skills (verbal and written). • Computer skills. • Team player. • Multitasking skills. Starting hourly between: $38.00-$39.50 What you need to drive: A valid CDL A license with Tanker Endorsement. 3 Years of CDL Driving Experience. Must have experience with mountain driving. Air Brake Endorsement. DOT certified medical card. Good driving record. Safety risk rating within Mahoney acceptable standards. Ability to drive manual shift (no restrictions) 8 and/or 10 and/or 13 transmissions. Ability to drive automatic transmissions Sitting 50% of the time. Handling 2" and 3" hoses while pumping grease. The ability to lift, push or pull 100 lbs. on a repetitive basis. Working Conditions: Work outdoors in different weather conditions. Exposure to used cooking oil odors. Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas. Handling grease coated equipment. Driver job duties: Remove waste cooking oil from bulk tanks at customer site using hydraulic levers Clean and maintain customers' bulk tanks and surrounding area. Prepare truck tools at the start of day and perform pre/post trip inspections. Other duties as assigned. CDL Class B driver Schedule: Tuesday through Friday 2:30am 4 days, 10-hour shift. This role will require to do at least one overnight per week. Starting hourly rate: $25.50 - $26.50 Responsibilities: Service and maintain used cooking oil containers and grease traps efficiently. Mountain driving and chains use will be required. Conduct regular inspections, cleanings, and maintenance of grease trap systems. Transport goods to designated locations within a local route. Interact professionally with customers and ensure excellent service delivery. Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures. Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance tasks. Qualifications: Valid CDL Class B (preferred) Class A accepted with Tanker Endorsement 3 years of CDL experience within the last 10 years. . Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately. Excellent driving record and commitment to safety. Ability to work well within a team and independently.
