Job Description Job Description Lettuce Entertain You - Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab Position: Sous Chef Location: Washington, DC Pay: $70,000-$85,000/year Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants is looking for a Sous Chef with 3+ years of Sous Chef experience in a high-volume, full-service environment. Job Summary Supports BOH leadership by running daily kitchen operations and shifts. Oversees execution, food quality, team performance, and assists with inventory, ordering, and cost control. Key Responsibilities Lead BOH shifts, including kitchen and dish operations Ensure food quality, presentation, and safety standards Manage prep, inventory, ordering, and food cost support Conduct line checks, pre-shift meetings, and shift transitions Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards Train, coach, and develop BOH team members Partner with FOH to ensure smooth service Support hiring, scheduling, and performance management Requirements Kitchen leadership experience in a high-volume environment Strong knowledge of food safety, operations, and cost control Ability to lead in a fast-paced, high-pressure setting Strong communication and organizational skills Flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays) Additional Expectations Promote teamwork and a positive kitchen culture Follow all company policies and regulatory requirements Perform other duties as assigned About Us Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab is a sophisticated restaurant featuring prime steaks, quality seafood and the signature dishes of legendary Joe's Stone Crab.
